Hello Doug, obviously for what you are saying, you would have a problem in the effects processor of your Behringer, I suggest you use an external processor to corroborate that the problem is not in the shipping bar, or in the allocation of returns
If you have technical knowledge, disarm the mixer and control the internal connections of the effects processor, see if there are no loose solders
I sent you the link to download the circuits of your PMP5000
If you do not find the origin of the fault, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

SOURCE: how do i get the effects to work? cant seem to get

You have to select an effect, push down the selector knob to lock it in. You have to send signal to the effect by turning up the effect in the "strip" above the slider. You have to turn up the effect sent to the main below the effect window, and finally use the effect slider to control the amount of effect. There may also be a button to toggle the effect on and off near the effect number window.

SOURCE: Behringer PMP5000. The Powered Output B dead

Make sure the three position slide switch is set correctly for the stereo usage, that is NOT the bridged OR the Mon mode.

MAKE SURE the pan pots are set to middle as they control the spit of the audio to the two channels.

This is a class "D" amplifier (switching) and there really isn't any fuse for a single channel.

MAKE SURE your speakon connections are good by swapping your speaker cables.

I repaired my unit and had to do that without schematics... Behringer will not give them out. Mine had a severe arc-over on one side power amp taking out about ten transistors and diodes and one swithcing regulator chip. Had to cut out the "cancer" of the burned board.

This unit uses a complementary output stage that is made up of one transistor on one side and a pair in parallel on the other. This drives the inductor/capacitor filter... I think the switching frequency is between 100KHz and 1 MHz as I recall. All those transistors were gonzo. It also fried the main power switching transistors in the power supply, several smaller transistors, diodes, and the switching regulator chip.
Also two 10 ohm power resistors were fried. They soft start this unit by charging the main caps via two resistors that limit the inrush current.
A small switching supply has to come up first before the main supply which sends the DC to the amp section.

You are correct. The impedance will be too low for that mixer. The answer to the question is no.

SOURCE: Hello; I have a used Behringer pmp5000 mixer. The

Without knowing how you have your monitors configured it is hard to analyze what you have posted.

In brief, SW3 on the schematic that selects MAIN L and MAIN R in the upper position, MAIN and MONITOR in the middle, and bridged in the lower is used to configure the internal amps.

In the upper position, the amp power outputs come from the mixed stereo bus and are simultaneously controlled as a stereo signal by the MAIN slider.

In the middle position MAIN and MONITOR, the left amp receives the signal from the mix bus and is controlled by the MAIN slider. The MONITOR output from the other side of the power amp is controlled ONLY by possibly the "MONO" slider.

The schematics are hard to decode and what is needed is a signal flow diagram.

For my uses, I don't try to use splitting the power amps between mains and monitor but prefer to use the mains together with SW3 in the upper position (Note your 27 may be refering to the user manual designation for same switch). I then use another small amp from the 1/4 inch MONITOR jacks whcih are under control of the MONITOR sliders.
Please note that the MIX for these two MONITOR channels is controlled by the MON1 and MON2 knobs for each channel.

SOURCE: My Behringer Europower Pmp5000 Powered Mixer blew

Probably the channel A went. If you are fortunate, the power supply is still OK. There are protection circuits for the speakers, however you MUST use speakers that are rated at over 400 Watts. If you use smaller ones, they can get blown. There is a weakness primarily on insulation for channel A and an arc between layers of a circuit board can wipe out several transistors and a zener diode and sometimes a metering resistor. Once this happens, have unit serviced before using it again as further damage can result.
ALSO PLEASE read my tip I posted on FIXYA regarding a grounding hazard when using Speakon to 1/4 inch speaker cables... essentially the barrel of the 1/4 inch jack of the A channel is the hot lead, NOT the tip for that channel.

Behringer Europower PMP500 using 1/4 inch cables for speakers?

Question edited for maker.
Question moved from Musical Instruments to correct category.

Running a 1/4" cable has no bearing unless you are trying to run a hundred yards of cable. Check your plugs wiring and connections to the unit. Here is the manual.

I'm having problems with a Behringer PMP5000 board. the dual effect chanel instead of number 0-99, it come up as letter and number i.e e1-5

In spite of the display, does the effects work and do they change when you dial up and press the knob down? If they do, then likely the display is at fault. If the effects are NOT working sound wise, check the +5 volts as the whole effects runs from that, It should be within 10% of the 5 volts.

Connecting compressor and equalizer to pmp5000

Use a two channel INSERT SNAKE. Plug the TRS connector for each channel into the INSERT jack for the mains in the area above the effects unit. Plug the TIP of each channel of the snake into the input of your effects unit and the RING plug into the output of your effects. The snake has ONE TRS connector and TWO TS connectors per channel.

Need part # for the Program Push Button Control for the effects on a PMX2000 power mixer

You will have to call Behringer in Woodinville WA to get the Behringer part number. Their phone is:

(425) 939-3200
With the number plus an incident number that Behringer will give you, you then call FullCompass who is the parts distributor... Then, unless they have it in stock, plan to wait a long time to get the part. FullCompass phone:

800-356-5844
Lots of luck... I have waited for three months for parts.

Setting up a Behringer PMP5000

You can do the effect via the "POWER AMP INSERT" jacks.

Use TRS interconnects to yout effects unit.

If the effects unit does not have TRS type bi-directional in/out ports, you MAY need to make special cables to connect the units. Refer to figure 4.5 on page 9 of your PMP5000 user manual for INSERT connections.

I have a PMP5000, used 5 times now. Last gig I

Cease using it immediately and get it serviced. There are failure modes of this that can do serious damage that requires a lot of work to repair.

If the temp sensors shut it down, it will restore if cooled off... If that doesn't happen service is required.

If just one side of the speakers went out I know exactly what has happened as I have repaired three of these all with same problem. If both sides are down and the rest seems to work, that is an uncommon failure

The cooling fan is throttled as needed and runs only when heat sinks get to a certain temp.
