Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8
minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has
drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the
pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill
with water and not sensing that water has drained).
To clear out
the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the
kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar,
remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the
kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob
in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water
and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob
counter-clockwise to remove the filter.
Hello Denise C - There are several things that could cause the bleach to not dispense into the washer. Are you sure the liquid in the dispenser after the wash is bleach? If it is pure bleach, the solenoid that lets the water into the dispenser is not working. This solenoid is located on the back of the dispenser. It only gets voltage during the dispense time and fills the bleach dispenser with water. The bleach dispenser fills while the washer is filling for the rinse cycle.
When the washer begins to fill for the rinse cycle, the bleach solenoid is energized and water flows into the bleach dispenser cup. When the cup is full the water siphons out and bleach and water flow into the tub.
If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is pure bleach you may need a technician to diagnose and repair the problem. The voltage will have to be tested to the bleach solenoid and a volt meter is required.
If the liquid in the bleach dispenser is water you probably need to clean the dispenser cup. Scum will build up in the siphon tube and stop the liquid from going into the washer tub. The incoming water will dilute the bleach and overflow the dispenser cup and run into the tub.
Remove the insert from the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Clean the bottom of the insert and the bleach and fabric softener compartments. Reinstall the insert and put the drawer back inside the washer.
To test the siphon action slowly pour water into the bleach compartment. When the water level goes above the maximum line stop pouring. The water should all drain out. You may also test the fabric softener compartment the same way.
THE COLD AND HOT WATER CANT GO BACK IN TO THE WATER VALVE ! NOW IF THE DRAIN WATER COMES BACK IN AFTER DRAIN MODE LEFT DRAIN HOSE UP A FOOT TALLER THIN THE WASHER OR CLEAN YOUR PUMP THIRS A CAP ON THE PUMP YOU CAN REMOVE TO CLEAN . NOW IF THE WASHE IS FILLING UP WITH WATER WHEN ITS OFF THE WATER VALVE IS BAD
are you on a well?? do you use bleach in with your whites?? some well water untreated can cause exceptionally stinky machines, especially if no or very little bleach is used during white washing.. usually if you use bleach in with your whites in normal amounts and leave the door open in between uses there should be very little stinky odor or mold growth. the mold growing on the gasket is a sign of to little bleach or none being used, and/or a really damp environment for the unit to reside in. they do make several cleaners designed just for stinky front loader washers.. they might help.. i've been using a front loader for 13 years, leave the door ajar between uses, and use bleach in every white load and have had no issues with stinky unless i or someone else doing wash forget and close the door for a couple days, then it gets stinky but goes away after white load with bleach and hot water.. hope this helps, best of luck, ttfn
I had a similar problem, but mine was with the detergent side. I removed the top of the washer and had to clean the dial that advances to let the cyle of dispensing continue. It worked, but now the machine shakes and I am told is 'unbalanced'
actually the code is probably fh which indicates no water in tub ..possible causes would be water siphoning out due to low drain or tight fit in stand pipe ..if these are ok suspect flow meter ..the small round object on left with 2 small hoses attached 1 from fill valve other to dispenser...also possible pressure swith on right side ..suspect flowmeter 1st if it has one
believe it or not whirlpool says that's normal its in your owners manuel under dispenser because the washer mixes the bleach soap fabric softener with water for it to dispense they say its normal for water to remain but if you want to empty it there is a tab that you can press down on in the dispenser and remove it have a bowl handy
This may not be relevant, but by design, bleach does NOT dispense in the Buly/Bedding, Kids Wear, and Silk/Ultra Delicate cycles. If you try to use it, it remains in the dispenser.
As for the yucky smell, leave the door open when not in use.
Could you be putting too much bleach in?
These things are usually designed to be self siphoning once the dispenser is full enough. The idea is that you half-fill it with bleach. At the right point in the cycle, the machine starts adding water, filling the dispenser up to the point where it siphons out until empty. If you overfill at the outset, the thing will empty straight away.
If you're sure that isn't the cause, then take the dispenser out and check that the dam that keeps the bleach in place to start with isn't damaged (you may need to take a cover off the back of the dispenser first to see this).
