SHARP HTSB603 system shuts off randomly while watching TV, then un plug it for 5 minutes and then plug it back in, it was working, but not when I try this the lights go on for about 1 second then

It worked at first, then it goes off. Was told to unplug and wait 5 mins, then re-plug in, an issue with the fuse maybe? It doesn't;t seem to work now, it goes off, I unplug and wait 5 mins, the plug it in and the blue (with red centre) light comes on for a second, maybe a tad less, then it goes off again. What is going on, can a fuse be replaced if this is the problem?

Most likely the power board has gone bad. Find one on ebay and a video of how to replace it on "you tube".

Tv randomly turns off. Not sure if it is overheating or if something is broken.

Hello,
It sounds as if you are having problems with the AC Power reaching the television. Please verify the cord is firmly seated the tv's ac inlet
Also check the wall outlet (and power strip) by plugging in a lamp into it and see if it flickers when the tv shuts off.
Good Luck!

Try by make this TV to a hard reset first. To do this, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If it do not help you, just try a factory reset. To do this, you have to enter its service mode option to do this. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy.

Ok, looks like this TV works on MS Windows. Anyone who has had a computer 5 years back knows that when Windows has a problem, there is only one sure-shot solution.

SHUT IT DOWN, START IT UP !

Try this with your TV. Completely unplug it and leave for one minute. Start again. Voila ! Remote works flawlessly.
