The outer cover of the microwave comes off when you remove the screws located at the bottom of each side and sometimes on the back. The fuse will be accessible then.
The entire cover will come off.

Some units will not allow time programming if the door is open - or if the microwave thinks it is due to a bad door switch or door switch mount, etc.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

SOURCE: buzzing noise.microwave not working

That's almost always a defective filter capacitor on the control circuit board.

We regularly repair such control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year guarantee.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more information & help.

SOURCE: Emerson Microwave Model MW8119SB found blown

Chances are that either the diode or capacitor are shorted. Be very careful, the capacitor can store a charge and should be discharged first for safety. Hope that helps...

If the 20A fuse is blowing, it is often the high voltage transformer or magnetron. If this is the case, and the microwave is not under warranty, replace it. Residential microwaves are generally considered disposable. Parts and labor are just too expensive. A magntron or transformer can cost more that half the cost of a new microwave.

Where is the fuse on KitchenAid model KHMS2050SSS microwave?

Fuses in microwaves are generally located behind the control panel. They can be close to the panel, midway back in the microwave case, or all the way back on the rear wall of the housing. Accessing the fuse will usually require removal of the entire outer case, and in some instances, the removal of additional interior panels. If you decide to do the job, be sure to replace the fuse with one exactly like the ceramic one you find in there. Glass fuses are not designed to handle the power that goes through these ceramic fuses.

Panasonic microwave nn a554w

First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.
If you have a stuck key or non-responsive key, most of the time you will have to replace the keypad for this microwave oven repair. If your keypad is connected to your control board by a flat ribbon wire, try disconnecting it and clean the silver contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. After cleaning, plug it back in and try it. If it doesn't fix it, replace the keypad unit. Some units actually have keypad tests to confirm your diagnosis of a bad key.
If your keypad and control is the same unit, replace that unit. Another note, unlike stove/oven keypads and controls, most microwaves do not have error codes or tests to distinguish whether it is truely the keypad or control. Most of the time, it is the keypad that needs replacing, but a small percentage of the time it can be the control. Check the tech sheet if they can point you to the right part.

Where is the fuse located on a kitchaid microwave khms155l

It is located behind the key panel. UNPLUG THE UNIT FIRST.
Remove top grill (2 sinked screws on top)
Now remove the single screw on top of the key panel. Barefully slide out the keypad up and out. The smart people of kitchenaid put the dang fuse jammed between the fan housing and the right wall. Remove the entire bottom plate that holds the lights and such... I think 8 screws. Now remove 2 screws that hold down the fan housing. Now you going to have to use a screw driver and some wiggling to move the plastic housing out of the way enough to pop and slide out the fuse and replace. To test you can use a continuity tester and place it between the fuse. There is nothing visible on this fuse (250Volt 20A fuse Fast Acting I think) e.g. you can't see that the fuse is broken or not. Make sure no wires are pinched while putting it all back.

I have a kichenaid microwave#khms155lss-4 my son put a stainless steel bowl in it and i dosen't work help its only 3 years old

It's most likely a blown magnetron thermostat, but you should also check the fuse and the oven cavity thermostat.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Accessing the thermostats for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download Kitchenaid / Whirlpool owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Need installation instructions for replacing door handle on kitchenAid microwave oven model KHMSi55LSS0

Remov fan cover, bottom plate, you can either do it right and pull out the entire plastic baffle to reveal the hindge bolts or you can just jam something between just enough to get a long socket on a small socket wrench. You must replace the entire door. Trying to replace just handle is almost impossible.

Kitchenaid microwave (builtin) door jammed

I believe the only way of gaining access to the door latch assembly is by removing the cover. You can use needle nose pliers to grip the sides of the screws to slowly turn them out. You might want to visit this web site www.applianceaid.com enter your model number then scroll down until you see an exploded view of your model. Click to enlarge the diagram of your model exposing the latch assembly. I hope this is of help to you. If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. D. Lange

Emerson MWG9111SL MICROWAVE WITHOUT GRILL-NO POWER

If fuse, door switches, and capacitor are good, the next potential problem area is the control board (behind the keypad). Look for evidence of burn markings on the board and back of keypad panel; you may need to unscrew it to pull it out and look. I discovered with the same issues you have posted my LG microwave had a burnt board. Replacement is around a hundred dollars so I will just go buy anorther microwave (not LG!).

I have a Kitchenaid Microwave model KHMS155LSS-2. The microwave will begin beeping (when not in use) and the clock will then flash to indicate it needs to be set. However, it will not allow me to reset it....

F2 on a Kitchenaid microwave means you have a shorted keypad.

You have a failed keypad.

If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.
