Maybe not enough water. Defective water valve could cause that

SOURCE: Soap film on dishes

Rodney B if you are sure that the white film is detergent and not hard water deposits, then look at how you are using the detergent. When you watch the TV ads for dw detergents, they are showing baked on/extemely dirty dishes being put in the dishwasher and coming out clean. Well they do this as the dw detergent is designed to break down protein based food products. Fats, oils, and such. If you are prewashing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, then there is nothing for the detergent to attack and attach to, so it ends up staying in the dishwasher. If you are going to rinse your dishes, then you need only 1 tablespoon of detergent. Dishwashers are designed to clean using 4 parameters, hot water of 130 degrees, water, detergent,& pressure of the water jets. That is how they clean dishes. Now if this is hard water deposits, switching to an enviromently friendly detergent which is high is Citric Acid (What gives Tang drink its tartness) this will reduce this issue. Hope this helps

SOURCE: My brand new dishwasher leaves white film

The new washer is drying the dishes faster that the old one,Try setting it to no heat dry and see if that helps,if so you will need a water softener or filter for the water line to the washer.

SOURCE: My Maytag quiet series 200 is a good dish holder

We have a different model Maytag, but have had the same kinds of problems. Essentially, the problems are a plugged bottom screen that prevents or restricts recirculated water flow, and split seams in the spray arms that prevent high pressure water flow from the small holes in the arms. The screen part is at the bottom of the assembly under the lower spray arm. You need to remove all parts down to the deck while noting the placement and order of everything removed. Soak the screen in white vinegar and hot water for an hour or so, then scrub the surface to get it clean. Melted cheese makes a good sealer. Clean out any plugged holes in the deck and make sure the pump turns freely. I assume you can hear the motor turning when the machine is running. Reassemble everything while watching placement of 'O' rings and other seals. Check both spray arms for plugging of the small holes and any splitting of the seams. I repaired a split in one that extended about 2 inches and had warped the plastic somewhat, by drilling small holes in the split area and beyond each end about 1/2 inch. I then laced the split together with fine wire and tying the ends back. Worked great! As did the washing process!

SOURCE: Our Maytag quiet series 200 does not clean or

It is not the dishwasher. The problem is hard water. There is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system. It filters the water before it enters your dishwasher. It works amazing and has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look after the first load. It is also very affordable (like 70 bucks). Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com to find out more info.

SOURCE: dishes are not rinsing clean

I suspect that something has changed, say your water has become different if your water authority has changed the added chemicals or the source for your water supply. Another thing is the hot water heater may not be heating your water sufficently to do a through washing. This could happen if one of your heating elements have malfunctioned unless you heat water with gas. Also did you change your dishwasher detergent? Adding a rinse chemical to the cycle may help.

Maytag dishwasher quiet series 400. Dishes have hard stuck on grit and food particles after rinsed and dried.

Very common problem is soap build up in these machines. Try putting it into a wash cycle with no dishes, and no soap. Let it wash for about 5 minutes, and then open the door. If you see alot of soap suds, then soap build up is the problem. Try doing a couple loads with no soap, and no dishes, and throw a cup of vinegar into the machine halfway through the wash. Repeat as necessary. This should solve your problem.

6 month old GE dishwasher now leaves heavy film on dishes...

As far as using the vinegar, this should be complete when there is NOTHING in the dishwasher. The idea is to remove the build up inside, not clean the dishes. Make sure to use only White Vinegar. Also, changes in the water of any kind can cause a build-up. Try using a little less detergeant and rinse.

Bosch dishwasher

Although I previously posted with the same problem of a film on the dishes after cleaning, I did find a section in the owner's manual which solved my problem. Lift up the rinse aid cap on the inside door - the factory setting is on "4". The rinse aid works in conjunction with your local water, which has variations in it's hardness or softness. When your dishes are streaky, lower the rinse aid setting to 1 or 2. If your dishes are spotted, raise the rinse aid setting higher.
