Battery not holding charge. Needs a new battery
If you leave your vacuum plugged in all the time, sometimes the battery will develop a memory and not charge very good. you either need to unplug it once in a while if you are not going to use it for more than 2 weeks, otherwise ask somebody if they know how to get rid of the memory on the battery sometimes you can reverse the polarity on the battery and knock the memory off, but you must have somebody who knows what they're doing it could be dangerous otherwise.
It sounds like the battery is shot. It might have sat too long with a dead battery. Don't know how long it sat in the store before it was purchased. You might need to contact Dyson and ask if you can get a replacement battery.
