What you need to check is going to depend on the model. No point me attempting to help without knowing what one it is. If it has a back cover held on by a single cross head (philips) screw then very likely the solution will be under there. When plugged in there is live power there so be aware ***** is not far away if you plan on messing about while it's live.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid stand mixer oil leak

Hi. The grease that your mixers are lubricated with has reached a stage where the oil is leaching away from the grease. All your machines need this grease changed. Shell Darina EP-2 or Chevron FM ALC EP-2. These machines need to be internally cleaned and re-greased. It's important to remove the oil from any place that it drips. The planetary gear must be removed, cleaned and re-greased also. It's a messy job, but you can do it yourself if you're familiar enough with machinery. If not, then a suitable service outlet can easily do it.

If you choose to do it, go to the Kitchenaid website and locate the parts files for your particular model, these drawings will assist greatly with the project. If you can, take digital photos at every step of dis-assembly as a reference for re-assembly. If this solution assists you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45

SOURCE: My KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer won't turn on,

It sounds like something is obstructing it or the lever is bent. You will need to take the head apart to investigate further.

if the head wobbles on stand, flip mixer upside down, and tighten the pivot pin screw way deep down inside stand. you will need a long flat blade screwdriver. it's probably loose.

Kitchenaid mixer motor quit , I dont really see any thing wrong with the brushes.

Obtain a copy of the Repair Part List for your model from Kitchenaid.com.
Download a Copy of the Kitchenaid Service manual.

First, you may want to adjust the mixer's speeds:

1. Loosen the lock nuts enough & Turn the 2 top screws clockwise until they cannot be turned
anymore. Leave the bottom screw alone for now.
2. Use a dab of white paint or paper whiteout to mark the positions of the Phillips screws.
3. Plug in your mixer and Set the speed selector to "Stir".
4. Turn each top screw One full turn couterclockwise (alternating between Left and Right)
Keep making one full turn at the time (for both left and right) until the motor starts running.
5. Put your hand near the Agitator shaft and allow it to brush your finger slightly. Use your
watch or clock and start counting the number of times the shaft touches your finger in
60 seconds. The correct count should be 60 RPM (Rounds Per Minute). If it is less
or more than 60, give each screw 1/4 turn counterclockwise or clockwise and start counting
again. Now tighten both lock nuts.
6. Set the speed selector to "6" and turn the bottom screw either clockwise or counterclockwise
to achieve a speed of 180 RPM.

For your reference, the planetary RPM's for the 5-qt. tilt-head Artisan Stand Mixer are as follows:
Stir speed - 60
Speed 2 - 95
Speed 4 - 135
Speed 6 - 180
Speed 8 - 225
Speed 10 - 280

Second, if the mixer won't run:
Remove the Control Plate Assembly (36), the Phase Control Board (39)
and the motor Governor Assembly (35). Inspect for loose connections,
burnt or damaged components. If they seem to look OK, re-assemble
them and test the mixer. If the motor still won't run, then I might suspect
a defective Phase Control Board (39).

My machine simply won't turn on .

Obtain a copy of the Repair Part List for your model from Kitchenaid.com.
Download a Copy of the Kitchenaid Service manual.

http://www.kitchenaidparts.be/centers/servicemanual/mixer.pdf
Remove both Brush Holder Caps (34), one on each side of the
Gearcase Motor Housing (1). The Carbon Brushes (29) are keyed
and designed to go into the Housing but only one way. Both must
make contact with the Motor Coils in order for the Motor to turn.
If they are improperly inserted or too worn out (replacement is
required) then your mixer will not run.

KitchenAid stand mixer KSM50PWH. Was kneading dough with dough hook attachment and it quit turning. Motor works fine but the part that's supposed to go round and round doesn't. Can I fix this?

The Nylon Worm Gear has stripped. This is designed into the part so if the Mixer gets overloaded, it won't burn out the motor. Which is odd if you have the reset switch like I do.

Are attachments for a KitchenAid K5 compatible with the K55?

That would be incorrect. If the attachment is for a hobart kitchenaid mixer then it will fit all models of kitchenaid mixers including the brand new pro series because the attachment port and drive gear has not been changes since 1925 or 6 when it was first introduce by the Hobart company.
