There is no default setting , the temperature is set by you , check the user manual on how to do this.

higher the number, colder the fridge ie 7 is the coldest setting
switch with red dot is for summer/winter operation. only necessary to switch it on if the appliance is in a cold location

Your refrigerator has a Control-defrost,adaptive timer ,PC board part number 241508001
This is providing your model is the one listed above your post WRS3R3EW. The model you listed in post does not come up. Until we can determine that the freezer is not defrosting you need to unplug and remove the back panel of freezer compartment to see if the evaporator coils are frozen or clear. If frozen this alone will cause a chain reaction that keeps vents to fresh food compartment open and cause freezing in that area. Go to link below and enter model number WRS3R3EW0 Then you will see a list of diagrams on left side, chose #11 this will show the control parts. Click link below Thanks, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: Temperature setting

The fridge should be just above freezing, maybe 2 or 3 degrees celsius. The freezer should be around -15 degrees celsius. The outside temp doesn't matter as far as the settings go.

The fridge need to be devrosted open up freezer door take back of and look if all ice gone from freezing rods restart if same prob it looks like fan not going or heating element not workingon

the thermostat has broken down and needs to be replaced,, normaly when they brake down they just stay in the closed poshion so the fridge freezes up get a new one fitted and all will be well

My fridge side is freezing everything and l do mean everything. We have the fridge side turned to 1 and the freezer side to 3 and every liquid freezes solid milk, juice,sour cream you get the picture. HELP
Start lowering down temperature, you may need to defrost fridge overnight.

Hi,

This is a common problem that often doesn't have a clear, permanent solution. The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator temperature (see the Appliance Accessories section for a refrigerator/freezer thermometer). The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:

  • If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly.


  • If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf.


  • If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct, i recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located inside the cabinet, on the right side wall. With this information I can better address the issue at hand.     My ge profile refrigerator won't keep it's temperature setting?
    G.E. has had problems with the main computer board located on the back outside wall of the machine,you need to give the parts store or whoever you get the board from the full model number to get the correct board.i looked up the machine with the number you sent but there are 2 different boards that they show so open the fridge door,look up near the ceiling on the right hand wall and you'll see the model and serial number,all you need is the full model number or you can send it to me and i can look it up for you.good luck

    My fridge keeps freezing how do i change the temp settings
    Hi!!

    You didn't mentioned brand and model of your fridge, so I will give you a general answer.

    Usually the controls are in the fridge compartment, either on the right or back upper wall. Usually is one control for the freezer and another for the fridge. The normal settings should be about 1/3 of the dial's range, ie. If dial have 9 numbers, the setting should be between 3 and 4, depending on use and outside temp.

    Wait 24 hrs. between adjustments to allow the system to stabilize.

    .NOTE:
    The Freezer Temp. Dial is the main temp. controller, if you set it too low, it may not have time to cool fridge side properly.

    I have a westinghouse freestyle fridge and it is leaking water seem to be coming from behind the tempreature adjusting knob. Do you have any suggestions. Thanks Michael model RJ452T-R
    Open the fridge door, locate the dial which moderates the temperature located on the 'ceiling' of the fridge. Remove the light cover, remove the globe. Unscrew the two screws which hold the dial housing to the ceiling of the fridge, let this housing hang from the ceiling in the wires. This will expose a red funnel shaped tray, gently lift the tray and pull it out, you will most likely find the tray drain is blocked with gunk, clean and reinstall. Assembly is reverse of removal.
