Switch of the power and isolate the power cord. To uninstall unthread the two inch discharge port union,then the 1.5 intake port union.

Be sure you have connected the motor to the line leads correctly and that the motor is set for the proper line voltage.

A somewhat common problem is that most motors are dual voltage (can be ran on 115 or 230 volt) and come factory set for 230 volts. If you connect it to a 115 volt circuit it will run for a while and then overheat and shut off.

If it's rattely clean the impeller, If it's screechie bad bearing probally caused by a bad seal and it will need a new motor and seal.

That means that the connection between the motor and the actual centrifugal pump is broken. This is terminal: replacing the broken part will cost you more than the price for a brand new pump. Just cut your losses and replace it.
