My Bosch avanti xxx7 washing machine beeps when I choose a programme and won't start it's not showing any signs on child lock and door is fully shut

I had a similar problem which was resolved by replacing the door interlock switch (cost about £10.00).

To get to it you need to disconnect the mains then remove the top lid. You can then see it by looking down the inside to the right. Remove the 2 screws inside the door opening and you can then lift it out after disconnecting the wiring plug.

Replacement is the reverse of the above, a 5 minute job.

HI I KNOW IT SOUNDS DAFT BUT HAVE YOU TRIED SWITCHING THE CHILD LOCK OFF? I CANT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHICH BUTTONS IT IS ON YOUR MODEL BUT YOU USUALLY HAVE TO PRESS 2 BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME (& SOMETIMES HOLDING THEM FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS) RATHER THAN JUST 1 TO SWITCH THE CHILD LOCK ON/OFF. IF YOU STILL HAVE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IT WILL TELL YOU WHICH BUTTONS YOU PRESS TO SWITCH CHILD LOCK ON/OFF HOPE THIS HELPS!

Eventually discovered that if the 'start' button is held down for a few seconds it unlocks the 'child lock'.

My Bosch washing machine is showing a key symbolt, is beeping and flashing shows O and will not let me start a new cycle.

Power on, press the start button for 5 or 6 seconds, the sign will go off. Try the door gently.
