SOURCE: Bostitch nail gun loss of pressure, won't fire nail
Hello. I can help you. The nail gun you have uses 18 gauge brads. I would use only original Bostitch 18 gauge.
The one MM of difference you mention is the reason why you do not have the pressure you did have. Get rid of those 31MM brads and get the 18 gauge. Home Depot carries the Bostitch line. I would go there or to homedepot.com
SOURCE: The finishing nails don't drive
I am not familiar with that particular nailer but on most there is an adjustment screw or "barrel" nut that allows you to adjust the depth of the driver. If this has rattled loose as is often the case, the nail heads will be left sticking up. If that doesn't solve the problem, there is the chance that something internal has come lose and is inside the ram - preventing it from driving down all the way. If this is the case then it can destroy the inside of the tool and will need to be torn apart to be repaired. IF you are to repair it yourself I would suggest going to Dewalt's web site and see if you can get an exploded view of how it comes apart. As you take it apart take pictures of your progress so you can look at them when reassembling it. I did this recently with a Bosch jigsaw and was very glad I did once I found out how many parts were inside! Good luck and hope I was helpful.
Firrst clean and lubricate slide portion that drives nail in. Dirt will cause this sometimes. If problem persists you may have a bent driver and may have to be replaced. If you can remove front guide, check for burs or gouges on metal.
