That sounds like it's definitely an internal adjustment. The machine will need to be opened up and the left/right adjustment taken care of. Is this machine one that you can open the top easily, or is it the type that has the front and rear shell?

sounds like a bent needle. did you try changing it to a new one? I have gotten bent needles new in package before so try a couple out...hope it helps

Firstly check you have put the needle in the correct way! It is just so easy to do it wrong. If the needle plate/opening for bobbin is at the front then the flat side of the needle faces away from you. If the needle plate/opening for bobbin is at the side then the flat side of the needle is placed to your right. If after checking this and using a new needle it is still missing then the timing is out and you need to take it to be repaired-it is not something you can do yourself.
