SOURCE: the cord drives the machine from the foot peddle.

There is no "belt" size. You need to measure the distance with some yarn and buy some leather treadle machine belt. There are a few vendors on ebay. The machines had a "staple" of sorts that would hold the treadle belts together that might be hard to find.

Bernina 1006 foot peddle does nothing

Not sure. It could be something to do with the foot control, power cord, or the motor. Does the light come on? If so, it's probably not the power cord. If you have access to another foot control and power cord, that is an easy way to test. Otherwise, might be best to take it to a Bernina technician.

The cord to my footpedal only works in specific positions. Can I get just a new cord or do I need an entire new pedal?

you should be able to fix it yourself. Make sure the machine is unplugged from the wall socket. With the foot peddle upside down on a flat surfice, using a flat head screw driver, try prying open the foot peddle. Once open inspect the wires, one might be loose or disconnected and hardly touching the leads. Secure them if they are loose or reconnect them if unconnected. Close the foot peddle, plug in machine and try the foot peddle.

I hope this helps and saves you money on buying a new one.

How to repair a non-working foot peddle on a Singer 6215C

There are a few things you can do. If you are even a little technically savvy, UNPLUG the sewing machine then take a detailed look at the pedal cord from the pedal all the way to the machine and check for any damage, pinch points, etc. If it all looks good, you should be able to open the foot pedal to see inside. There should be a small limit switch that actuates when the foot pedal is depressed. Manually cycle the pedal to ensure that the pedal mechanism is making contact with the limit switch. Listen to the limit switch as it should click when you first engage the pedal. I cannot tell you exactly what you would have to do to replace the pedal but after you have exhausted what I have suggested, I would take it to a sew & vac shop and they can replace it for you. It should not be that expensive. You can call one or two shops and get quotes for replacing the pedal.
