SOURCE: Roper--ice buildup on one freezer shelf

The reason for ice buildup is an air leak. Recheck all around the gasket by taking a dollar bill and closing the door on it and pulling it out. If you don't have resistance, you found your leak. Heat that area with a blow dryer to relax the gasket and close the door to let the magnet and seal set. Also, rub some vasoline on the hinge side gasket to keep it from dragging.

SOURCE: ICE BUILDUP ON BOTTOM OF FREEZER, DRAIN HOLE FROZEN

There is normally a small filiament of metal which is attached to the defrost element and conducts heat down the drainpipe preventing ice build up. You can pour some boiling water onto this area and even wriggle a piece of plastic tubing down the drain pipe to dislodge any blockage. For future prevention, you can attach a piece of copper wire around the defrost element (in the absence of the original filiament) and extend it down the drainpiple

SOURCE: Ice buildup on the coil and ice buildup on freezer floor

you will have to unclogg it..hot water/hairdryer..flexible tubing to push out the clog. the ice on evap coil bothers me though. do all the coils get frosty white(close the door for 10 minutes then check) I fear they aren't and you have a freon leak.

If it is not a frost less freezer you'll have to remove perishables to another fridge/freezer; unplug and de-thaw the unit.

Water on floor - french door refrigerator with freezer below

Yes the bottom compartment does have a drain opening but to see it you will need to remove the rear panel covering the evaporator inside the back wall of the freezer compartment. See item location number 11 on page 3 of the parts list. That will need to be removed so you can reach the drain inside the freezer compartment. The fresh food section also has a drain. Drain clogged

Water is supposed to drain down a small drain line to a pan down near the compressor where warm air from the condenser fan will blow warm air over the water and evaporate the water again an put it back into the air inside your home, office or wherever your refrigerator is located. Over time that little drain tube gets slime, algae and a gooey white paste gunk that fills the drain line sides up stopping the waterflow downward to the condensate pan below refrigerator. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. Gunk is an accumulation of algae slime and just crud that appears from nowhere in a refrigerators defrost condensate drain line. How a refrigerator leaks is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down the rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example of a ET18PKXGTO Whirlpool refrigerator leaking water into a cup below the freezer compartment. Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian. TechnicianBrian.com. And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! Buildup of ice on bottom of freezer compartment. Ice then melts and leaks out the bottom

sounds like you have a stopped up drain line where water drains out when freezer is in defrost mode. My Amana freezer does it quiet often.

My LG Model LRTN18320WW is leaking water inside frig. on bottom below produce drawer. has occurred since summer. what is solution?

Drain in freezer compartment is plugged.
Mold (fungus) buildup sometimes restricts water flowing into condensate tube in the defrost cycle, and water somehow can enter in the refrigerator compartment and out the bottom of the refrigerator door.
You must clean the condensate tube!
You must remove back cover in freezer. One screw in left upper corner behind plastic screw plug will allow you to remove the cover exposing evapourator coil and condensate drain tube hole below it. Must also remove back cover at rear of refrigerator exposing the condensate drain tube END which may be restricted also.Tube must be totally cleared to allow the water created from defrost cycle to exit to the drain pan in the bottom of the refrigerator.

I have water collecting on the iside of the refrigerator compartment. It is leaking through the air vent openings from the freezer compartment.

I am going to assume you have a defrost condensate blockage in the rear of the freezer and behind the rear panel where the evaporator dreains condensate after each defros. Please correct me if I am wrong.
The answer to finding the cause of the leak is where we need to begin. Most start in the freezer section behind the rear panel where the defrost condensate is drained during defrost. Sometimes the drain hole freezes over and the water drains down into the freezer creating a large area of frozen water. Other times i happens as the water leaves the drain in the freezer and follows its path to the pan below your refrigerator to re evaporate into the air inside your home. If leaking inside the fresh food compartment then the cup behind the control panel may be over flowing and leaking down the back wall of the refrigerator and will need to be taken apart and cleaned to allow the water to continue down to the pan below the refrigerator. Sludge and dust or even ice may be blocking this line. Below is a link to a page that may help you resolve and fix this. If you have more questions feel free to let me know. Ice freezing up on bottom of freezer and water puddles in front

Two possibilities, ice maker leaking or the defrost drain is blocked with ice or another object. Unplug the freezer and remove the rear panel in back of freezer. At bottom of the evaporator coil is a tray that catches the defrost condensate and sends it to the pan beneath your refrigerator to be be heated by the compressor and fan heat produced from the condenser. The moisture is then returned to the air inside your home. If the drain is blocked with ice or anything between the freezer and the pan below, the condensate tray will overflow will end up inside your freezer or fresh food compartment. Questions? I will be here to help you, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Refridge leaking water inside it...

The condensate drain begins inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel and at the bottom of the evaporator coils. Every time the refrigerator defrost (about 3 times a day) the water needs to flow out the bottom of that pan in the freezer and into a plastic drain pipe to the bottom of the refrigerator into a pan on top of the compressor or side of compressor. Sometimes the drain is blocked inside freezer and there is a buildup of ice. But sometimes it is blocked near the opening that leads out of the fresh food compartment and then down to compressor tray/pan. If the blockage is near that exit then you will see a trail of water running down the back of the fresh food compartment and settle in bottom. The only solution is to slowly and carefully remove the drain pipe from the back and inside of refrigerator and clean it out. Let me know how you are doing on this and I will be here to help,Thanks Sea Breeze
