AV1 / AV2 Connections don't work

Hi

I have an LG 32" HDTV (which I bought 13 months ago) and the AV1 / AV2 connections don't seem to work. I have Foxtel and XBox 360 connected to them. I can see the picture, but there is no sound.
Can this be fixed?

No picture or dark picture
Check R516 (56Kohms, 0.5w) or R517 (27Kohms, 0.25w) for high
Will not come out of standby, no picture
If at power on voltage on pin 37 of the micro drops low then reverts to 5v suspect memory chip ICA07 (Toshiba 23319016)
No picture No sound
Faulty IC TDA6107q on crt board
No picture on e-e, I.F output ok
This was due to switching chip IC3901 (M51292FP) on the scart panel

I have recently bought a sony bravia model number KDL-40EX710. The input channel either keeps flicking to another input channel, ie AV1 to HDML or when on AV1 or AV2 the channel confirms itself at the top...

Your connections might be loose and the tv is constantly recognizing the connection over and over, that would explain the pop up. I would imagine the picture would be distorted somehow if that was the case but worth a try. If the problem persists after trying a good new cable then I would call the manufacture.

It's not really a problem. my little sister wants to play our nintendo 64 and we're not sure what channel to choose. av1 or av2?

As long as the N64 uses a composite cable (red and white for audio, yellow for video), you can use either connection.

AV1 connections are on the back
AV2 connections are on the side

Have satelite as AV1, Wii as AV2 - hooked DVD player up as component 1 using RCA plugs but it is only black and white and very grainy.

Connect the yellow RCA jack, which is actually called composite video, not component, to the DVD. If it's component, it's the wrong jack and you'll need the additional 4 cables to satisfy a component connection for HDTV.

How do I switch to AV3 , AV2 And AV1 functionon the sony Bravia 40 inch HDTV

Hi,

All you need to do is press the TV/VIDEO button in the top left corner of your remote. Each time you press, it will cycle through the connected external inputs, e.g. AV1, AV2, etc.

Hope this helps.

32" lg. light on front will turn from red to green , but no picture . won't even show anything on the screen. no av1, av2 , nothing.

Had the same problem sometime back with same model of LCD TV, it has something to do with voltage fluctuation and has no easy fix that you can apply, have it checked out at a local repair shop...

Connecting a DVD/VCR combo to LCD TV

The best suggestion I would advise is to buy a shielded scart connector & connect that from your DVD combi to either AV1 OR AV2. It sounds as if you are picking up RF interference from your current connections, this can sometimes happen if the cables do not have adequate shielding.
