Hi,

get the big stuff with paper towels in a used grocery bag. then we use white terry cloth rags with a weak solution of dish detergent and warm water. when the terry cloth isnt stained you got the stain up.

SOURCE: Bissell Pet Hair Erase does not vacuum.

It is because the belt is worn or stretched and needs to be replaced. Here are the belts you need and the manual which has instructions:

HOW TO SPOT CLEAN A CARPET
I have a "furry family" of a dog and 2 cats who I love dearly. Unfortunately, my carpet has suffered from several "accidents" and "upset tummies". It is a challenge to find an effective cleaner that cleans the stain, reduces the odor in the carpet, and is reasonably priced.

In the past, I have tried commercial products that were both expensive and ineffective. I have also used vinegar mixed with water and, although it was effective, it did not achieve the results that I would have liked. So one day, I decided to mix a little scented fabric softener in with the vinegar and water and VOILA what a difference! It removed the stain and left the carpet soft and smelling fresh. It has become my preferred method of dealing with pet stains on the carpet.

If you decide to give this a try, be sure to test this solution on an inconspicuous place on your carpet to be sure it does not discolor or lighten it. So far, I have had only good results from its use.

To Spot Clean a small area:

Fill an empty clean spray bottle with equal parts of water and vinegar. Then add a capful of scented fabric softener to the bottle. Shake it up for 30 seconds.

Spray the stained area

Let it sit for 2 minutes and then spray a little more on it.

Rub the stain with a dry cloth until it disappears.

The vinegar odor will fade as it dries and helps to remove the foul smell

Let it dry and you will notice a nice fresh smell and your carpet will be soft.

Once you vacuum, you will have a hard time telling where the stain was.

I have actually used the mixture above in my Bissell Carpet Cleaning machine with good results. It is much less expensive than commercial carpet cleaning solutions. Be sure to read your machine manual or contact the manufacturer to make sure it does not affect its operation. So far my machine is tolerating it well.

This is a personal tip that I just wanted to share with others. I hope you find it useful.

Suction problem? The carpet fiber and pet hair

You've probably got a lesser blockage further down the pipework, which is reducing the airflow. Check everywhere possible for blockages, and also make sure the washable filter is clean and dry.

the pet hair may be clogging the water return inlet I suugest you clean the bushes and inlet as well

Deodorizing the vacuum

First of all Clean out the vacum cleaner . Empty canister and take filter outside and hit on something to get all dust out . Now wash canister and filter with vinegar water and let dry before using vacum again. You might try using carpet fresh for pet odors on carpet and empty and clean canister and filter regularly. I own a cleaning business and this is a hard problem to solve with all vac. cleaners. Good Luck!!
