if the person doing the sharpening has the machine to do it --yes as the blades are sharpened on a generic machine in the factory

Need replacing the Universal "S" blade or sharpening it.

Rafi, Not positive if # is still valid, give it a try. Wolfgang Puck Consumer Service Line at 800-275-8273. You could also look in your yellow pages for Knife sharpening adds or google for your area.

Unless you've been trying to chop nuts and bolts, the sharpness of the bade isn't so very important, as the food processor also depends upon the highish speed with which the blade rotates.

If the blade is severely blunt you can try sharpening it with a kitchen steel.

My food processor is ancient and works like a new one. but broke a piece (small nick) from the bowl. All blades work fine but cheese grater. The only thing I can provide for id number is CFP 9A. This is on...

You should probably not use the thing anymore. The type of plastic they used back then gets very brittle over time, and there's a chance that the bowl could shatter while you're using the processor. There's a chance that if that happens the safety switch will stay engaged and the unprotected blades will keep spinning, right where your hand is. It happened to me.

Grating

Any of the disc blades require the use of the detachable stem. The official "Fine Grating Disc" (which doesn't normally come supplied with the food processor) is mainly for grating cheese, but the shredder disc that comes supplied with the food processor will do the job for you.

Grater/slicer doesn't spin on my Cuisinart BFP-703 food processor

The gear box spidle operates the regular s-shaped blade as well as the grating/slicing disc. Does the s-shaped chopping/grinding disc still spin? If not, you can get a new gear box. If it does spin, replace the grating/slicing disc - because the plastic may be cracked, as you say. All of these parts are still available from Cuisinart, so I'm not sure why they weren't any help - I've always been able to order from them.

Where can I buy a 4mm and 6mm grater for Magimix 5100

Lid broke

Yes, I have the same problem. I called GE/Walmart division, and the model is discontinued. They are sold out of the lids and bowls. So, I guess we need new food processors!!

Hi... if you have a La Machine I, the item you want is available on nelsonappliance.com for $6.99 + s&h. Search for "disk adapter". I'm not sure about the La Machine II, but the phrase "disk adapter" will probably help you search. Good luck!
