SOURCE: Compressor starts, then stops
Hi, this problem will be with either the starter for the compressor or could actually be the compresser itself. Both of these can be replaced but it is not something any one should do unless they have done this before and know what they are doing.
SOURCE: Air leakage through pressure switch needle
1)Let your unit pump up.
2)Turn it off.
3)Find the supply line from the pump to the tank.
4)Remove the supply line from the pump head.
5a)If you hear air coming from the tank you have a bad check valve.
5b)If you do not hear air coming from the tank, you have a leaky
pressure switch.
SOURCE: My water pump stops and starts. the contacts on
A lot of these pumps do have automatic thermal switches built into the motor end cap, Double check that its being fed the name plate voltage and that the voltage doesn't drop when the pump is running (which would indicate a loose or bad connection or just undersized wire in the circuit)
