If you are stuck by the region code problem, you can get a region-free copy and then play it on your player machine. You can use Leawo Blu-ray Copy to do this which can remove the original protection. Or you can check on this tutorial:

Go to the forum called VideoHelp and see if there is any hacks for your model. If not, chances are it's not possible.
But you can still play region locked DVD on PC with region-free player, or rip your DVD to MP4 to remove region code.

I think you can unlock regions but it might require you resetting the region your player is registered in. This may be of help to you -

Hi, have you tried this? It worked on my LG player.
1. Open DVD tray
2. Press "0000" on the remote.
3. A screen will appear saying NEW REGION CODE displaying the current one.
4. Press "0" for all zones.
5. Press the "select" button on the remote.
6. Close the CD tray.
7. Power off
