Try to OC Cpu and get error in post screen.

I try to OC my CPU thru either uGuru or in the BIOS and i get an error in post screen saying "Warning! System is now in safe mode." It tells me to reset the setting in the BIOS. It happens even if i move the clock speed up 1 Mhz. I have reinstalled XP Pro and even got SLI certified Memory and have two vid cards. I dont know how to get rid of this error. I would liek to OC my system just a little but for some reason i cant get it to happen with this board. If anyone knows how to OC this board without getting this error please let me know or if you know how to get rid of this error please help me out.

djnick989 - what the hell are you talking about "not made for it" ???? The IN9 32max is specifically made for overclocking!!!!!!!!! An dyou obviously have never even been near this board or you would know that it has NOTHING like auto boost

This board not made for it it might have a auto boost u can enable thats about it i wouldnt try to oc it unless uw ant alot heat and it to die 2 times as fast up too best to buy a chip soot yours need not oc and jack heat up to kill everthing ok no good wont give u bigg differnce ever if its a 2.4 to 2.6 2 steps wont matter

    not made for it and u will need to adjust ram when u oc it and video timings this way to much for advtage user to do and have prper water cooling ok

Hi

Did n't you just post in hardware about flashing the BIOS?
Did you enter the BIOS & check the cpu voltage setting to make sure it's correct?
Actually, after the flash you probably should have used the ClearCMOS jumper to reset the BIOS,
then ran thru ALL the settings & manually adjust them for best performance.

Has power, but will not post up or go thru boot
Hello my friend,if you sure that is having power and is not motherboard or CPU error then you should try resetting your bios settings or check if the bios battery is dead.You should take it to a repair shop to take a look or tell me if you want to try to change the cmos battery but remember that the warranty will be void and you may harm your computer.

Same problem
You need to flash the bios to a newer version for this cpu to be supported by your motherboard. Your descriprtion says asus so go to www.asus.com; click on the support link; lookup your specific board model #; select the operating system you are running. Download the latest bios file and follow the directions on the download site for proper flashing. Once you have flashed the bios everything should identify properly and allow you to continue setup. Hope this helps.

Asus m2n-e sli Cpu changed settings on boots up
I could not find BIOS ver. 1302 for the M2N-E Mb. What I do know: Your dual core 4200 showing up as "unknown". Asus says:
This is because the BIOS does not have the relative CPU uCode to support this processor. Please simply update your BIOS to version 0902 or later to resolve this problem.

Once you cpu shows up correctly, chances are that your over clocking will work and the bios will stop sending you back to change your settings.

9.0 Complete uGuru initial process AWARD BIOS take over booting job.
9.9 Complete power off sequence.
Did some reading & it's not good. Some say it's the memory most point to the board being bad. According to the posts resetting the bios jumpers will not let you enter the bios either.
You can test you memory in another machine but again most posts say their memory was just fine. No one said it was the CPU. If you want to download your manual click the link below.

Asus P3V4X/S370-133/Tualatin 1.2Ghz
It turns out that while the BIOS will not appear to recognize the Pentium 3 1.4GHz Tualatin CPU (SL6BY) in my Asus P3V4X motherboard, Windows XP does! I apologize for my delay in posting this.

I have five extra SL6BY processors that I'd like to sell if anyone is interested. I need to make some money to upgrade the memory in this antique to 2GB (turns out that low density 512MB RAM does work in the P3V4X, by the way).
