T2 direct de hum 3 alarming after running a few secs.

There are several reasons why your T2 Direct Dehum 3 dehumidifier may be alarming after running for a few seconds:
  1. Dirty or Clogged Air Filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can cause the dehumidifier to overheat and shut down. Check the air filter and clean or replace it if necessary.
  2. Defective Humidity Sensor: If the humidity sensor is defective, it may cause the dehumidifier to shut down. The sensor may need to be replaced.
  3. Faulty Compressor: A faulty compressor can cause the dehumidifier to shut down after running for a short time. You may need to replace the compressor.
  4. Low Refrigerant Charge: If the refrigerant charge is low, it can cause the dehumidifier to shut down. You may need to recharge the refrigerant.
  5. Faulty Control Board: A faulty control board can cause the dehumidifier to shut down or display error messages. You may need to replace the control board.
It is recommended to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue with your dehumidifier.

The error code says bucket is full but it is empty. Have unplugged, plugged back in - same message. It's only two years old. Anyone else have this problem - or know of a solution? Thanks

The sensor is probably off track. It is a small float that sits in the back of the unit near the top of the bucket. It pivots when the water reaches it to activate the switch. It can be knocked out of place when moving the bucket in or out. Just re-seat it and make sure it can rock back and forth normally..

WHy does P2 code come on display for my Westpointe DeHumidifier

I could not find the user manual for your particular model but the manual for the MDF1-30AE model indicates that the P2 code is when the bucket is full or not in the right position.

If you have already emptied the bucket and the error remains I would recommend checking around where the bucket goes as there should be a switch that gets pressed by the bucket when it is in the proper position.

My guess would be that when you are putting the bucket in it is not properly hitting this switch.

Recently purchased a Philco dehumidifier, model PD24GE. It turns on perfectly well but the humidity reading always says 20%, even if I put it outside where I know the humidity is at least 80%. Any...

Astro9boy, when I first read your post, I considered the problem was was just operator error. But, when I read the Owners Manual for your unit, I changed my mind. It seems there may be a problem with the control panel. But, attempting to reset it may solve the problem.

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 15 minutes.
After the time has elapsed, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch ON
Hopefully, during that 15 minute timeout, the unit reset itself & reverted back to the original factory settings. If so, you can set the controls where you desire.

In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.gilman-group.com/gilman_product_usermanuals/PD24GE_eng.pdf

If the above does not sole the problem, you will need to contact Philco, or the p;ace of purchase, as the unit is still under warranty.

I hope this helped you troubleshoot & solve the problem.

Where, in the UK, can I obtain Amcor replacement parts?

the thermal break is there for a reason, the motor has overheated, if this was due to a towel or other item covering the unit great remove the the obstruction and replace the thermal break. however the major cause is that the bearings have dried up on the motor and it has started to seize, which means replacement.

P1 and P2 error codes

Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

The Service Rep. described the following code for my dehumidifier model (DDR657EE):
P1 = Defrosting: the unit will go into Defrost mode periodically to ensure that the parts are working at the right operating temperature. It should be in Defrost (P1) mode for only a brief period of time. If the unit is in Defrost (P1) mode continuously for a couple of hours (or more), then you should call Danby Service for further assistance.

He had no documentation of a P2 code for my model.

He also described other General Codes (applicable to most Dehumidifier/Humidifier models):
E1 = Not enough water
E2 = Not draining
E3 = Water temperature too cool
E4 = Overflow Switch activated
E6 / E7 = Problem with Temperature Sensor

I hope that helps.
