i think you should either get a new ds or tap the touch screen hard. if tapping the touch sreen harder does not work then that means it is time for a new ds.

Can you get to the app store? Down load a wifi calling app like Magic jack, viber, or any other. This will allow phone to make calls via wifi. If you just want to send text, then either voxer or text plus, will work.
