I can see the evaporator starting to ice up but fan never comes on. Measured a/c volts at fan plug and its zero. I have tested the fan and it works.Does it get power from the main PCB ?? Thanks Steve
Yes everything get power from the board. Look for wiring diagram and trace wire out
The temp sensor was the cause it would not let the fan come on. Now after it runs about 5 minutes or so or when the evap temp reaches 39 degrees the fan comes on. It's also controlled by the door switch. Thanks
How did you get hold of a new temp sensor and what did it cost? I have the same problem.

SOURCE: Unit not freezing , evaporator fan wont run
If this is a Bev-Air, don't think the door switch will control the fan. At the evap, there is a temp sensor called a fan delay. When unit goes into defrost mode, this warms up. Some also serve a dual purpose. It will terminate the defrost cycle at a certain temp., say 51 degrees or so, at the evap. Anyway, when unit comes out of defrost, it keeps the fan off so it allows the evap to cool quicker and to prevent circulating warm air. This could be your problem. Not a hard fix but they can be a pain sometimes. Outside chance that the unit is low on refrigerant (freon). This will not let the evap get cold enough to trip the sensor back into position to turn the fan on. Good Luck. Restaurant Parts and More carry alot of Bev-Air stuff. 1-888-814-1110. Ask for Rick
SOURCE: Kenmore (frigidaire) model #253.55679400 evaporator fan does not come on
yes, the fan is controlled by the pcb controller, but it is also dependent on the temperature sensor since it is waiting for the sensor to give the signal that the freezer coils has froze up before turning the fan on.
it could be a bad freezer temp sensor.
i hope i was able to solve your problem,
pls rate me
tnx 4 using fixya

YES see if you have 12 volts dc at the evaperator motor if you do then the motor is bad if you do not then the mother board is bad and ge recomends in this case to also change the fan motor at the same time
SOURCE: freezer cold, fridge warm
The small cooling fan in the freezer compartment that sends chilled air to the food side is defective and needs replacement. Sometimes that are only frozen stuck.
When you receive advice from this website you have to understand that without the item in front of us, we are only able to provide "a best guess" as to what the problem might be based on you description of the defect. If you haven't described a clear and precise description of the defect you decrease the chances of an accurate reply. Thank you.
