Its easy procedure. Remove the back plate, removed the screw holding the valve, removed electrical wires and water tubing. install new valve in reverse very simple. ------ Thanks.Helpmech.

Install Water Filtration Cartridge (some
models)
a. Remove bypass cartridge from water filter head in rear
right corner of refrigerator section. Twist cartridge
counterclockwise 1/4 turn and pull down to remove.
Save bypass for use at a later date.

typically you would set it in the middle so 4 should be factory default. 7 should be coldest

Hi.The compressor motor is connected to the refrigerant system, which is not user serviceable. It will be necessary to have the compressor serviced, or replaced by a qualified technician. no way!!!!! do not try to cut into the cabinet. the wires inside the cabinet will "never" fail. this "so called" repairman is wrong and needs to be sent away.
too bad you paid him to check this out but if its a company and not just a single owner then ask them for another opinion. for "free" then when they find out you have a bad main control board it will end up costing you about 300-400 bucks for a replacement.
what you need to do is call amana and ask them to see if they will recommend an authorized company give you a second opinion.
then ask if they will help with the cost of repairs. most of the time they will give you a concession for repairs.
a 2 year old unit is too new to have a major repair.
good luck with amana, as they are now owned by whirlpool, but you do have a good chance to get a free repair.
