The screws are fuel screws so unscrewing them will ritchen the mixture, start with the L screw, this will be the closest to the cylinder, start the engine and warm up, gently screw the jet in, the revs will start to increase as it leans off, at the point where it then starts to die because its too lean, turn the screw out 1/4 turn, now start with the H screw, open the throttle fully, if the engine struggles to accelerate unscrew the jet 1/4 turn and try again.

This is the carb adjusting tool you need. There's zillions of them on eBay so quit f..ing saying there hard to find. I bought a set that had ten different ones in it plus a set of various size brushes for $12 with free shipping and got it in three days.

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F303261246147

You can also get the following kit cheap to spruce up your blower. Get it!!!

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F303261246147

Now, set your carbs as follows: screw all three jets in until they stop "lightly!" Then back out the high and low 1 1/4 turn and throttle 2 turns. Should start now. Now tweak the settings

SOURCE: Chain saw will not start

BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING, CHECK THE
CARBURETOR AND FUEL LINE FOR GUMMY
DEPOSITS. TODAY'S GASOLINES DEGENERATE AFTER STANDING FOR LONG
PERIODS. IN THE FUTURE, WHEN YOU ARE
DONE WITH THE CHAIN SAW, EMPTY THE GAS OUT AND RUN THE SAW TIL THE CARB IS FREE OF RESIDUAL GAS.

SOURCE: Husqvarna Model 141 Chainsaw Carb adjustment

The tool you need is available from Randy's Engine Repair, on his E-Bay store. The price is about $10., plus $3. shipping. Phone for Randy's is (937) 927-5665. It is usually busy.
Ebay item number is: 390025452838. Buy it online. I got mine about a week after I ordered it.

SOURCE: "L" adjustment screw on the carburator

L is for idle speed mixture and H is for full throttle mixture. Adjust H, when engine is warmed up, with full throttle--adjust for high speed, but 4-stroking which should smooth out just as soon as you start cutting. Allow to idle and adjust L for smooth idle, but rich enough to allow the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Set idle speed screw to just allow the chain to stop moving.

Tune carburetor for rs250

If adjuster screw is towards the front half of the carb, clockwise = lean, anti-clockwise = rich. If screw is towards back half of carb, clockwise = rich, anti-clockwise = lean. Make small adjustments. If you can't get good results then change pilot jet.

I have a husqvarna 125b gas blower and it came missing its manual. Can you explain the high and low speed idle controls : which is which and what is used to adjust them Thanks

A special tool is required to adjust the carb screws, it should be set up from the factory for the best emmissions, so there should be no need for you to adjust them, however the L screw controls the low speed and acceleration up to half throttle, the H screw controls the max rpm, the the third screw just controls the idle speed, if you need the tool it is part no. 530035560, both screws are fuel, not air screws, screw the L screw in until you get the highest revs, then back it out 1/4 turn, screw the H screw in for the highest rpm, now back off 1/4 turn. if the machine does not pick up smooth increse the L screw bit at a time until it does, if the full revs sound too rich, screw the H screw in a very tiny bit.

On the husqvarna se266 carborater, what is the low and high screw settings or how many turns is the screws supposed to be at?

Initial setting for a Husqvarna; "H" and "L" screws at 1 turn CCW form lightly seated. Then tune for performance like this:
Carburetor Adjustment by Madsens.com
http://www.madsens1.com/saw%20carb%20tune.htm
CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run.

There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full – may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too. HTH

Its running too lean..there is a plastic cover over the carb adjustment screws

That may be to keep dirt out. One of the screws should be for the richness setting and the other for the idle speed.
Adjust the richness setting so the tool runs the best (fast) then turn the idle speed down to normal.
Make sure you always keep the air filter cleaned or dirt will get into the carb and cause you to have to clean out the jets in the carb.

Husqvarna 435 wot run at full speed runs at idle fine and looks like u need a special tool for the high low carb adustment

On that model the low adjustment may be factory set, and the adjustment screw is replaced with a roll pin. The high adjustment has a cover on it that can be prised free revealing the screw beneath. Turn screw all the way in (clockwise) GENTLY dont overtighten only to when you feel slight resistance on the screw. then back out 1 1/2 turns. This is the base setting. Turn at 1/8th turn either way until good high speed rev is obtained, but no further in than 1 1/4 turns out, or you will run the saw lean and cause damage. Check and replace your plug if fouled at all.
