It sounds like your Swan device is not generating VGA signal to your monitor.

SOURCE: Connecting laptop to LG Plasma via vga cable

you should have a button that you have to press to get it to switch over, on mine i have to press and hold the Fn key then press the F4 key might not be the same on yours but you should have a f something key that has what looks like a little screen on it that is to switch the output if that does not work try hooking up your laptop just like before, and then restart it. good luck

SOURCE: LG 37LC7D Connect to VGA from a PC

Your right. I just had the same "Invalid Input" issue as well and it completely relates to the resolution compatability with any VGA or HDMI connection. Check the LG website for the online manual if you don't have it and see the section on RGB-PC cable. There is a table that incdicates the Resolutions the LG product is capable of displaying.

Thanks for the help.

SOURCE: monitor says: no signal input check video cable .

Sounds a bit bland but either the monitor has failed or the video card

Only test is to plug your monitor into another system and see if it comes to life

If it does then your video card has expired.

If it is part of the motherboard then the easiest option is to buy a replacement which plugs into the AGP slot

They are dirt cheap unless you are into gaming when the sky's the limit

Can i hook my computer to tv ?

Hello

You can connect your Sylvania LC320ss8 to a computer. There is a socket at the back of your TV to connect it with a PC via VGA cable. One end of that cable must be connected to TV, and the other end of the VGA cable must be connected to PC's monitor out jack.. You have to purchase on VGA cable for this purpose, and is available at most of the electronic spare part shops. A "mini-plug audio cable" also is needed to connect the audio from PC to TV. Its one end to be connected to PCs Audio Line Out jack and its other end to TVs PC in audio jack. Both Jacks can be located at the back side of the TV. After connecting it select the TV to receive PC signals according to its manual says. OK.

My formac dvi monitor wont work as a 2nd monitor for my laptop

Try a monitor that has a vga output only, sometimes these laptops can't recognize the difference when there is a converter involved. It doesn't see the signal properly.

Try that and if a regular monitor works with vga then you know that monitor may not be compatible with that laptop because of the converter. You could also try another converter as well to see if that fixes the problem.
