hp printers typically do not have an error message to cover every known condition, thus if the printer needs maintenance in an undefined area, it will invariably indicate a paper jam. The printer usually responds to the installation of a maintenance kit which will include transfer roller, pickup rollers, and fuser.

13.20.00 can be also caused be a jam near the fuser (the part of the printer that gets hot to make the toner stick to the paper). Remove the toner cartridge and take a look for small scraps of paper along the whole path. Also open the door on the back of the printer and look for paper scraps from there. If you see paper stuck in the fuser, do not use anything sharp to remove it, be careful not to scratch the surfaces.

SOURCE: default paper tray selection for HP LaserJet 4200tn

1) When the printer receives a print job, it selects the tray by trying to match the requested paper type and size with what has been loaded in the trays. Using an “autoselect” process, it searches all available trays for the paper that satisfies the request, starting with the bottom tray and ending with the top tray (tray 1). The printer begins printing the job as soon as it finds the proper type/size.

2) If paper is loaded in tray 1 and tray 1 is set "TRAY 1 TYPE=ANY" and "TRAY 1 SIZE=ANY" on the
Paper Handling menu, the printer will always pull paper from tray 1 first.

How do I fix...error 13.B2.D2 on hp laserjet 500 m525 mfp

Make sure that the paper guides in the tray are set properly. People have a tendency to set them too tight and it binds the paper. Also inspect the condition of the pickup roller. Pull out the tray and look at the top edge of the tray cavity. Look for the grey or black roller in the front center. It should have ridges on it and be clean. Rollers that are dirty or smooth will cause misfeeding which generates this error. Make sure you are not loading too much paper in the tray. There are guides on the side tray guides that the paper must be under. I have also run into reams of paper that were glued on one end due to faulty packaging which causes the printer to not be able to feed a single sheet. Fan the paper in the tray to make sure no edges are binding.

What would cause paper jams in a hp 4100 printer

Where is it jamming. Printer this age could have fuser issues, worn rollers that are not picking up properly. Is the jammed paper crinkled up or does the printer stop before damaging the paper? If paper is not damaged, the cause is usually in the paper pickup slipping and causing the printer to think that the paper is either too long or too short. Clean all the rollers in the paper tray cavity with a damp cloth.

HP M4345xs MFP Unable to load paper from tray 2

Hello Robert,

The normal cause of not being able to pull paper from tray 2 is worn out paper pickup rollers. You can pull out the paper tray and look inside the opening the opening to see the rollers on the right hand side. Here is a picture of the rollers.
00576c35-44e5-42b6-8385-78ac02ad6695.jpg
The end of the roller has a little clip to press to release the rollers from the shaft. If you remove them and check the surface you will probably find then to be smooth, they should have a surface like a fingerprint to grab the paper. The rollers come in a kit called RK-4250 that included the rollers for tray 1 and tray 2. The RK-4250 is available here: http://www.ccl-la.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=302 Replacing the rollers should bring the printer back to full use. Be sure that when you replace the rollers that you puch them back on the shaft until they click into place.

I hope this helps you get your printer going,

Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.
