SOURCE: wavy lines on the screen and a high pitch sound

If you have a Dlp it might be the color wheel. The color wheel is in charge of creating the colors and when it's bad you'll hear humming, buzzing, whirling sounds.

SOURCE: lines are appearing on pictures

Please also try to upload new firmware: I doubt that it will solve the issue, but the alternative is a repair.
Connect the camera with the computer.
Turn the camera on.
Click onto the link and follow the instructions.

SOURCE: There is a white horizotal

Your fault it known as "frame collapse" because the pictures frame has collapsed. It may be caused by a bad solder joint or a failed component. Not a problem for a TV engineer.

SOURCE: sylvania hdtv model lc320sl1 will turn on but does not get picture.... sound works.... various colored lines and or scrambled picture appears at best

Let me start at the beginning---Likely a bad main board in your case but nothing is sure in this type of set.

Main board controls all information to the front screen and communicates to various boards---There really is almost never a simple "that part is bad solution" as any board, the power supply, the main, etc can cause issues.

It can even be a issue with the front screen unit--called a display panel.

You might consider doing some research on the set by Google of the model number with "parts" to get an idea what is available and what potential parts cost might be.

If a main board is bad it will average from one to two hundred just for the part----if issue is the panel you are done--part if even available is more than set cost when new.

Let me know if you have questions.

Multiple colours with vertical or horizontal lines and the sound went to a loud high pitched noise. After about 30 seconds the picture and sound went back to normal.

In the meantime, check all HDMI and scart connections then check audio and video settings on the TV - you should find these via your set up menu. Has the refresh rate got changed from the original factory setting?

High pitch noise from speakers

Hello there!
Sometimes High pitching its just that, static on the area, like if you are near a microwave, or near other electronic equipments, but, if the skreetching sound keep going or even if you do nothing it could be a line inside the sound card, or you need to clean the volume botton with special electrical cleaner. other that these, its contacts, or bad cap for the volume board inside.
Good Luck!

It is a DLP type set and if lamp comes on but other issues, I would first remove the lamp and look at the color wheel that faces it---looking for any broken or missing segments----often but not always the wheel will produce a fan like or high pitched sound as well.

54inch Hitachi TV has double figures and colors red, yellow-not normal. Set approximately seven -eight years old. Lost remote control and direction book in moving. Is the set worth getting fixed? Generally...

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony2_bing.gif,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer2_bing.gif, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms

  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted or warped
  • No Audio/Video - makes a chirping sound.
Problem #2

Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

  • Dull looking picture
  • White looking picture
  • Halos around objects
  • Red/Orange looking picture
