Check and make sure your switch is okay. Some have a switch that controls whether you want crushed or cubes. If it is defective replace it.

You may not need to replace the solenoid.  If you hear the hum, and not a loud click and don't see then rod move, it may be frozen with ice.  Test it manually with your hand, it should be free  to move up and down.  If not, then it is frozen with ice.  Remove the ice dispenser and let it thaw and dry out.  You should then be able to move to rod and it will work fine, at least until it freezes again.  Anyone know how to prevent it from freezing up? Its a continual problem for me

SOURCE: ice dispensor only dispensing crushed ice - not cubed

The spring coming off the rod will also cause this problem, also the bypass flap may be stuck open, always check the simple things first, hope this helps.

SOURCE: LG ice maker only dispenses crushed ice not whole cubes

Very problematic issue with this model .Try unplugging and plugging the fridgerator which resets the board. The board is located on top under a removeable panel where the power cord enters....there is a reset/diagnostic button on the board itself.Contact LGUSA.com for any possible warranty and complain like crazy to avoid spending $300 on this board which can be purchased from andrewselectronics.com who is a factory authorized parts provider.Keeping that ice maker going will make you pull your hair out which is unfortuante for such a stylish and expensive fridge.good luck

Samsung side by side ice maker not working

You have 2 separate valves, 1 for the water dispenser and 1 for the ice maker. (otherwise your ice maker would overflow every time you got water from the dispenser and your dispenser would flow every time the ice maker went to refill.) They are fed from the same tubing.

The cube/crushed ice motor is completely separate from the ice maker itself and should have absolutely no bearing on the water flow.

You have narrowed down the problem quite nicely to the ice maker water valve. There is one more thing to check though, the connector. There should be a multi-contact connector from the ice maker to the back wall of the freezer, usually 6-9 wires. Pull that apart and check the cord side (ice maker side) for any corrosion. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE OTHER SIDE AS THERE IS LIVE 110V!!! If you don't see any corrosion, still try try disconnecting and reconnecting 5-10 times and see if that solves your problem. If you see corrosion, unplug the refrigerator before working on the back wall part of the connector. [This connector besides powering the ice maker also allows the ice maker to control the water valve which can't be inside the freezer]

Amana asd2624hew water dispenser drips

Hello,

With the water dispenser is dripping the cause of that drip is the water inlet valve...its not fully closing yet staying up a wee bit and water is seeping through it into the the dispenser. To repair it the water valve needs to be replaced. Its in the rear of the refrigerator and the unit needs to be pulled from the wall and remove the service panel that covers the compressor and such...the valve will be on the left side. The part number for that water valve is 67005154 it could be purchased at your local appliance partstore or online at; searspartsdirect.com apdepot.com partselect.com
apwagner.com repairclinic.com while behind the refrig. replacing that water valve be sure to also clean all the dust from the coil on the righ side of the compressor ( Clean that coil every 6 months as regular maintiance)

I hope i have been able to help ya fix your refrigerator,

Ice maker makes ice cubes, but the doesn't dispense ice cubes.

If you could observe exactly where the water is dripping from it would help but...If it overfills and drips, look for an adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.
The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Ice maker stopped making ice

Hi

If the ice maker has completely stopped producing ice then check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. For this you need to look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary. If the ice maker is producing ice poorly i.e. if it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.
