I would lift up the drip tray and clean that out making sure nothing is under it. If it is coming from the dispenser then there is no reason to check under the fridge unless you think something is under there like grapes or berries.

SOURCE: Water dripping from the water dispenser on freezer

If the water is dripping from the dispenser tube, you need a water valve. The valve is not shutting off completely. Check to make sure water is not dripping from ice chute. If the chute door doesn't seal off you will get moisture there and it will also frost up the ice chute.

SOURCE: Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

We had a similar problem. It ended up being a frozen pea that fell down into the defrost drain and was blocking the water from draining out each time the freezer defrosted.

SOURCE: GE Profile side by side fridge - water dispenser doesn't work

More than likely, your water line is freezing up in the door. You can remove all of the ice cubes and lower the freezer temp to about 3. Leave the freezer door open for about 5 minutes or so and if this does not work, leave the door open a little longer. Also, disconnect the water line at the base of the freezer door, near the floor, and press the dispenser lever. If you have water there, you most likely have a frozen line in the door. Changing the water filter often will help but it is not the answer and is can get quite expensive. By the way, Make sure to hold the dispenser lever forward for at least a couple of minutes each time you test for water flow. If you do not get water at the connector at the base of the door after you have disconnected the line, you have a problem with the valve in the back of the refrigerator.

SOURCE: water dispenser dripping

The seat in the door valve has probably failed or has some trash in it.

SOURCE: Vegetable and fruit crisper drawers freezing foods

I had the same problem. Apparently the problem is the main control board. According to the technician that came out to fix mine there is a design flaw and these boards are very sensitive and can blow a circuit or malfunction from the slightest power surge. What happens then is that the control board doesn't "tell" the fan to turn on and off at the right time so the fridge and freezer warm up too much before the fan kicks in and then it cools everything down but since the fan isn't running at the correct intervals and circulating the air all of the cold air settles to the bottom which causes the produce in the drawers to freeze while the top shelves get warmer. I had done a fair bit of research before calling GE and came to the conclusion that this was a common problem. So I pressed them and was able to get the fee for the part waived (before I made the service call appointment) which was around $150. The part now has a 5 year waranty which I find funny, because I'm not sure why it wouldn't have that upfront as my refridgerator is only 2 years old. Whatever!! Unfortunately, unless you have indepth knowledge of refridgerator repair there is no way around the service call and labor. Anyone buying a new model of refridgerator (any company) should consider an extended waranty. The service tech also told me that all refridgerators made after 2001 are required, by law, to have an electronic mother board which in all likelyhood will fail at somepoint prior to when you are ready to buy a new fridge!

Good Lucak!

Do i have to hook up my refrigerater to the sink to get water an ice

Yes you have to connect the water pipe from sink to refrigerator back.hen turn ON the water valve o run the water from fridge to freezer section.Form freezer section to water inlet valve at the back of ice maker. Then only ice maker and water dispenser will function.Other wise only freezer and fridge will work.-------------- If you dont have water tube and water valve then You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. If you are not aware of how exactly to set and connect water valve and water tube then local plumber or fridge repair technician can do it for you.Its not at all hard job and can be easily done.It will take near to 15 minutes to connect all parts.------------- Thank you.

Water is leaking from the bottom in the front left side of side by side maytag. water line is ok not leaking. can't see where it is coming from.

the water for the dispenser (ice/water dispenser in the freezer door) comes from under the frige then up thru the bottom hinge of the freezer door .. it then goes inside the door up to the dispenser .. its a plastic hose and it has to twist near the hinge each time the door is opened .. thats where it usually breaks or develops a pin hole leak .. you can replace the whole hose or just the damaged section if that easier ... since the bottom freezer.hinge where that hose comes up thru, is at the position of your leak then i suspect thats your trouble ... ..also check the condensate pan to make sure its not full .. thats a flat pan under the fridge ..you can usually get acess to it by removing the front kick panel at the bottom of the frige .. if thats full then look for a door seal leak (damaged rubber seal) ... a broken seal or open door will allow moisture to condense inside the machine ..that runs down into the condensate pan where it normally evaporates .. but a problem (like open door) will fill it up to overflow in time ....

Maytag side by side fridge...water dispenser problem

If the water is visible in the front, more than likely the hose has become disconnected from the door, if you look at the lower left hand corner you should see the hose come from underneath the machine and attach to the door via a plastic quick connect, it is just a push lock connection. You may have to pull of the toe kick and the left hand end cap depending on the model to see this.

Ice maker works, but I can't get a drop from the water dispensor

If you are making ice then the chances are that the solenoid or the switch mechanism is bad on the water side. The water valve has two solenoids that control water flow. The icemaker side is control by the cam switch that rotates on cycling ice drops and the water side is controlled by the door switch which operates the water valve. If you hear the click when you activate the door switch, listen to see if you hear a clicking near the back of the refrigerater when you hit the switch. There is also a possibility that the water inlet screen is clogged with debris.

Maytag side by side fridge water dispenser not working

there are two water inlet valves on the back of refrigerator, one for icemaker the other for water in door. the valve for the water inlet is plugged or the soelinoid coil is bad. replace faulty valve, usually about 20 to 30 greenbacks at the appliance parts store

Problems with water & ice dispenser

If you are pressing the buttons (such as hold for 5 sec to lock), etc. and it's not working properly then the control board could be the problem. Make sure that you start trying the touch pad from scratch in case it's all goofed up (locked but not showing locked, etc.). Unplug the fridge for 30 sec then plug back in and try the whole troubleshooting thing again.
