This usually occurs when the head valve is worn, cracked or just needs lubrication. If the valve looks ok, then lube with white grease and test. If still no joy, make sure that the trigger firing pin is being pushed all the way in when attempting to fire. Make adjustment to safety foot. Good luck with the repair.

SOURCE: My new porter cable RN175B nail gun won't discharge a nail

If the trigger is set to single fire, you will need to place the gun against the work then pull trigger as you have done. Try setting the trigger to bump fire and try again. If hear a thump inside the gun, remove the head and check that the head valve in not stuck from lack of lubrication. Easy test, remove the nails, remove trigger pin, remove trigger and manually push trigger firing valve. If the gun fires then suspect faulty trigger or safety arm not lifting enought to activate the trigger valve. Good luck

Porter Cable Brad Nailer - Firing without pressure

The nose tip is most likely stuck in the ready to fire position from too much force being applied when nailing. These guns are small and sensitive to forces being applied. Try bumping it to see if the nose tip is retracting and compressing with each bump. Unplug and unload the gun before trying to pull the tip of the nose to retract if it is stuck. Check for foreign objects obstructing the trigger and safety mechanism

My porter cable 16 gauge finish nailer will not fire, I have opened it checked all inside components, it is not jammed, o rings in good condition, what more can I do, it has been used very little

I find that a nailer will fail to discharge due to lack of lubrication. Try lubing the head valve orings with white grease instead of oil. If no joy, remove the nails and remove the trigger so that you can fire the gun using just your finger. With trigger pin exposed, connect air hose with 100 psi. Very quickly depress the trigger pin all the way in. If the gun discharges most likely the safety foot and actual trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way in. If the gun still does not discharge then most likely firing valve spring weak or valve defective. Good luck with your repair

How do I replace the trigger valve assembly on a Porter Cable DA250C nail gun

There is one pin with a retaining o-ring that must be removed holding the trigger arm in - then there are 2 roll pins that must be driven out with a small punch that hold the trigger valve. Once the 2 pins are removed the trigger valve can be pulled straight out.
When you install the new trigger make sure the recesses in the trigger line up with the holes for the retaining pins.

How do I unjam a porter cable BN200SB nail gun

I suggest that you make sure that there is no air he tool so, remove the air supply. Then if you remove the cover from the nose (Making sure that you also take out all the unused nails first) it should allow access to the front nose plate. If you remove this, it will allow you to carefully remove the nail. While you're at it, check that the driver blade tip doesn't have any burring or damage to it. If so, you might need to fettle it back into shape or, replace it?

It sounds like the nail gun might need a lower end seal/repair kit.

Porter Cable FN250c wont shoot with every trigger pull. sometimes it shoots correctly (10% of the time), other times it just pops (no nail) and other times it shoots two nails at once. Also when it...

Worn trigger and or worn firing valve. Remove the trigger and look for wear on contact surfaces (worn pin that holds trigger, worn inner lever inside trigger, worn or loose firing pin in valve ). Easy test for worn trigger. Remove the nails, remove trigger, fire the gun against wood with finger to test for proper action. If it works better without trigger, consider replacing trigger with new (I would also order the oring repair kit that includes the firing valve )

I have a Porter Cable framing gun with a constant air stream from the defector. I can't read the model number, but after looking thru the Internet my guess is it's a FR350A. I have used 21 degree...

Air leaking from top of the gun is caused by headvalve orings or trigger valve. Easy fix, remove the head and pop out the headvalve. Remove the orings from headvalve and clean grooves /orings. Reinstall orings and apply plenty of silicone paste lube. If guns holds pressure after cleaning and new silicone paste, order oring kit and have handy when problems start again. If the gun keeps leaking, remove the trigger valve and replace with new or change orings within valve. Good luck

I have a poter cable brad nailer and after running

Sounds like a trigger seal. I assume this is an oil-less brad nailer as that is the standard. You should be able to find the seals at any local hardware store including Home Depot or Lowes. If you can't find the portercable O-rings just grab the random assortment from Bostitch which is usually readily available. Refer to your parts manual for the correct size/gauge
