The #1 problem is air flow. Check to make sure the vent pipe has plenty of air blowing out it. You can check this by turning it on and going outside where it vents out of the house. If the air flow is not strong you have a blockage or crushed vent pipe. Use a shop vac to clean piping and lent trap to get better air flow. Once airflow is restored your heating element should keep heating.

Clear the vent hose to the outdoors- clean the lint trap - if all vents are clear, your temp safety switch is cutting off heat (for a reason) If dryer is 5 yrs orolder - replace with higher rated energy saver - it will pay off.

SOURCE: i have a kitchen aid dryer SUPERBA electric dryer.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Barrel isn't turning.

I believe you will find the belt is broken.
There is a motor which is supposed to turn a belt, which in turn drives the drum.
If you wish to repair ir yourself, a letter to "Fixya" could cause someone to walk you through the steps.
Be blessed.

Kitchen aid dryer Partial drying the cloth

First you should make sure the exhaust vent and ducting and lint trap is not clogged or restricted, birds/insect nests, or lint build up. If the dryer is heating up it is most likely an airflow issue.
