Or try using a small piece of aluminum foil to bridge the gap of the piece that feel out...if that's possible? A true MacGuiver fix. :0)

I went through many batteries as well. I found Duracell "PIX POWER". Made for cameras. Battery power is grat.

You can get a multi meter from an electronic story really cheap.
It will tell you the voltage and the polarity of the battery connectors.

Not sure why you would need to know this , red is live black is return circuit and the yellow is auxilliary and usually goes to charge input. as a live wire It is easier to cut and graft a new battery to the stubbs of wire than to solder new battery on. What you might really be needing is the polarity.. whether any charge pin is positive or negative if you are making a new internal charge point. Consult the back of the charger it usually states the polarity in a graphic.

I had this same camera. If you have a power fluctuation it can really damage the batteries. make sure it was not exposed to fluctuations
