I have a red model with a white ceramic looking pot. Fine black lines that look like cracks in the crockery have developed and I'm wondering if this makes it unsafe to use.

Does it leak when you fill it with water?
If NOT you can use it.
If so: too bad the cracks are caused by pouring COLD liquids when your pot was HOT!

Thanks for your reply. No it doesn't leak. The pattern of the lines looks like it could be in the shape of the heating coils (if that's how it's heated). I've never put water in it while it's hot. I use it to cook dried beans overnight and cool it off while the beans are still in it.

There is no inherent problem with the Kitchenaid ceramic inserts. As far as a replacement ceramic insert, I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. They may be able to provide a new insert at no cost if the unit is still within the 1 Year warranty.

Their toll-free phone number is 1-800-541-6390.

If you are still looking I may have what you need. I live in Canada so you would need to pay the shipping which could be high as the liner is heavy. If you are interested feel free to email me.

I have the SCVP601R-L red crock pot. My ceramic pot is starting to look like it is cracking on the bottom. It is not leaking, I am just worried. I would like to get a relacement liner and it doesn't...

Check with your local hardware store, maybe they have some sort of scellent or glue for ceramic, just make sure it can stand high temperatures, if the crack is in the inside of the pot make also sure the product won't contaminate the food with nasty chemicals. Sorry that is the only thing I can think of besides buying a new crock...

good luck!

The crock insert of the KSC700 keeps cracking. The second insert I received cracked in the first 2 minutes of its use. I love the cooker but I don't want it if the crockery cracks every time.

I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. This may be an indication that the heating element is simply getting too hot, causing the ceramic insert to fracture.

I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. They may replace the entire appliance for you under the 1 Year manufacturer's warranty.

Their toll free phone number is 1-800-541-6390.
