I flushed my heater core by taking the heater hoses off the heater outlet and inlet and taking a garden hose and run water under low pressure for about a minute on both hoses going into the heater and mine cleared right up. Good hot air after that. I had to take some anti freeze out of the rad so I wouldn't loose fluid when I took the hoses off. This worked for my car.

SOURCE: 93 ford festiva heater only blows cold air.

The heater only blows HOT air when set on defrost or floor settings. If you have the lever set for vent, only cold air will come out. Check to make sure you set the controls to floor or defrost. This is standard for all Festiva's.

SOURCE: how do you flush out a heater core in a 2002 ford

No reason to. It is normally flushed out all the time by normal use. Sediment builds up in the engine and radiator, not heater. If the heater not getting hot enough, it is most likely the engine thermostat or the heater control valve. When you start a cold engine, the main radiator hose to the thermostat should stay cold for about 5 minutes, until the engine is totally up to temperature. Only then should the thermostat open and allow that hose to instantly get hot. If it slowly gets warm, then it is stuck open and needs replacement.

SOURCE: Have no heat. Have replaced heater core,

I don't know your vehicle, but does it have a blower door tucked in where the heater core is? If it DOES and that's broken then it could be the whole problem. It would mean it isn't switching from the A/C side of things to the heat side of them. Hope this helps, good luck! Also, just looked up the proper name for what I'm talking about, it's called a "blend door" and I think your car has one. It's what I would check, again, good luck!

SOURCE: flushing the heater core

I removed the hoses and took a air nozzle at low pressure and blew in the return hose connection of the core. A big chunk of paste like substance shot out then pure liquid. I put the hoses back on and tested it. Now its blowing hot!!!!!!!

How to flush heater core

Simple. You find the heater hoses feeding the heater core. Typically they are a smaller diameter then radiator hoses and they both run to the firewall. You will need to determine which one feeds the heater core ...the input hose. Once you know that ...check a Taurus owners forum or Google it ...then run your water through the heater core from the output side. The idea is to back flush the core in the hopes you knock loose the crud with high pressure water flow.

This heater core flush is usually done in conjunction with flushing the entire cooling system. Do the cooling system flush first then the heater core. When you do the system flush, use some flush agent ...Prestone makes it. If the directions say use one bottle, use two. The stuff is generally not all that potent and designed not to contaminate the ground water. Which means it's fairly lame stuff. Use two bottles.

Flush heater core on 2009 ford ranger

if your just doing the heater core you can clamp off the heater hoses to the core, disconnect them from the heater core and run water through it both ways. if its real bad connect spare hoses to the heater core spigots and pour CLR into the core until it is full(coming out other hose) block off hose so the core is filled and let sit. then flush out again until water runs clear. if this won`t clear it then it will have to be replaced.

How to back flush heater core 2007 grand prix

drain coolant system locate heater cores hoses going through firewall you need to buy the radiator flush kit at any auto parts stores. remove heater cores hoses from one end or buy extra long heater hoses same size as heater core hoses in vechicle at auto parts store use the flush kit when you flush through one of the heater core hoses let the other hose drain in a drain pan when you use home garden hose use low water pressure dont use garden hose to the max or you will rupture heater core. your best bet let radiator shop flush whole coolant system. because heater cores hoses are in a tight spot.make sure engine off if you just going to flush out heater core only .after flushing heater core good time to replace heater core hoses.if job too hard or complicated let radiator shop flush out radiator the engine block and heater core because if radiator stopped up or engine block stopped up the gunk and rust will reenter plug up heater core.if you tight on money you can flush out your own radiator.drain out radiator using large drain pan. remove top radiator hose and remove bottom radiator hoses connect to water pump.use garden hose with flush kit part with water pressure not too high put garden hose to top radiator hose run water until clear water run out bottom radiator hose in drain pan,the flush out engine block remove thermostat.if you had another spare thermostat housing with RTV SILICONE SEALANT THAT HAS SET UP INSTALL THERMOSTAT HOUSING BACK TO ENGINE WITHOUT THERMOSTAT FLUSH OUT THE ENGINE BLOCK, WHEN DONE INSTALL NEW THERMOSTAT THEN INSTALL ORIGINAL THERMOSTAT HOUSING WITH NEW ORING WHICH YOU BUY AT DEALERSHIP.IF ALL SOUND COMPLICATED LET RADIATOR SHOP FLUSH OUT COOLANT SYSTEM.

Heat in car not working

Sounds like a plugged heater core. You can try back flushing it yourself you will need to remove the hoses from the heater core tubes that come thought the firewall. Then using a garden hose flush water through both the pipes for several minutes. Hook the hoses back up and burp the air out of the system. If you have more and continuous heat drive it for a couple of days and repeat. Also if your coolant is dirty get it flushed. All that debris is what is stuck in the heater core. If the above does not work than the heater core will need to be replaced. Not a simple task since the dash needs to almost be entirely removed from the vehicle.

No heat is there a fuse 2003 f250 is there a fuse for heater

i don't know realy if there is a fuse (though i doubt it) but issues with heatting may be this will help.

If the carpet under the heater core is damp, or if antifreeze vapor or steam is coming through the vents, the heater core is leaking.
Remove it and install a new unit (most radiator shops will not repair a leaking heater core.
If the air coming out of the heater vents isn't hot, the problem could stem from any of the following causes:
  • The thermostat is stuck open, previnting the engine coolant from warming enough to carry heat to the heater core. Replace the thermostat.
  • There is a blockage in the system, Preventing the flow of coolant through heater core. Feel both heater hoses the firewall. They should be hot.if one of them is cold, there is an obstruction in one of the hoses or in the heater core,or the heater control valve is shut. Detach the hoses and back flush the heater core with a water hose. If the heater core is clear but circulation is impeded, remove the two hoses and flush them out with a water hose.
  • If flushing fails to remove the blockage from the heater core, the coremust replaced.
