How old is an aeg oko favorit 6050 dishwasher. Just wondering if it is an old model and not worth exploring to repair.

Try to run it with dishwasher cleaning kit (no utensils) to make sure everything is clean - that way you will get more life out of it. The cleaning kit (usually Finish) is sold in the supermarket in the detergent section.

This is typical of a water leak onto electrical connection OR the electrical element has shorted internaly . Check this with a Ohm meter and itshould show the problem

Empty all the water from the salt resevoir, (I used a turkey baster), then rock the machine backwards and forwards a few times and empty the last few drops from the resevoir again.

I have the 6040 model, and it has a number of buttons on the left, and a dial on the right.

if yours is the same, then you need to select a program using the buttons "Normal" for example, then turn the dial to just after the top A selection (I mean just after this, by a few mm, it clicks past the A slightly)

this will then do a pre-was, and the main wash you have selected.

The other buttons are fairly self explanatory, like half load for a half load, pre wash to only do a pre wash etc...
