My brand new dishwasher leaves heavy white film on dishes, especially bowls, but not limited to that. My old dishwasher did not do this, even without the rinse agent. Same house, same water. I've tried using less soap and different soap, but the result is the same.
The new washer is drying the dishes faster that the old one,Try setting it to no heat dry and see if that helps,if so you will need a water softener or filter for the water line to the washer.
Go to www.dishwasherfilter.com . they have a product that is guarnateed to solve this problem. it filters the hard minerals that leave these spots and film out of the water before it enters the dishwasher. very affordable and has a money back guarnatee.

Tried washing again without heat dry and the white coating is the same. Plates aren't bad, but bowls are a mess. It doesn't matter where I put them in the dishwasher, the result is the same. It was not like this with my old dishwasher that I just got rid of. I've tried less detergent and that didn't matter either I have no clue now since the water is the same as what we had before this new dishwasher was installed.
