If the hydraulic system is full of fluid it is most likely the pump but to try to save money change filter first. But usually jerking and no pressure usially points to low fluid, clogged filter, or pump is getting bad.

Hey, the "round cylinder" is a power steering motor for a John Deere 630. If you start looking for one of those instead, I'll bet you'll have better luck. Deere dealerships tend to not care unless you're buying a half million dollars in equipment.
