If this is just a mounting bolt it will be right-hand threaded meaning that with you looking at the nut/bolt, the nut will turn clockwise to tighten.
Some blade bolts (and some old car lugs nuts are left-hand thread on one side of the car, as is the left pedal on a bicycle) are left-hand threaded and it can get real exciting til you figure out you hand to turn them counterclockwise to tighten

Check to make sure there is no obstruction in the blades or on top of the deck where the belt goes. Also check that your pulleys turn freely and that a bearing didn't freeze up.
Let me know if this helps.

That model number des not show up as a good number on the http://www.searspartsdirect.com site. Are you sure you have the belts on correctly? If it has 2 belts on the deck & 1 is not installed correctly they work against each other. Safely make sure that each blade will turn by hand. did you take the blades off? If they are too long by just a fraction, they will hit ach other, but that usually makes quiet a noise. Get your book out & systematically go over everything you touched or changed. It sounds like something really simple you have overlooked. you can go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com & enter a good model number & view all of the parts diagrams. Sometimes they are a big help, & at other times they just confuse you more:). Let me know what you find!!

check to see if the belt is in the correct routing, most belt tensioners are able to be fitted with a factory belt in a couple of different routing methods, however only one is right to keep the belt from slipping, look for a belt routing diagram on the mower deck they are the best source fot this information.
