0F 0F on a Samsung refrigerator display indicates that your unit is in DEMO Mode. In DEMO mode, the lights work, but the refrigerator/freezer, fans, etc. will not operate (this mode is for display/retail purposes in appliance stores). Unfortunately, Samsung does not include any info re: DEMO mode in their user manuals.

To exit DEMO mode and return to operating mode, you will need to push 2 display buttons simultaneously for ~ 3 seconds (you'll hear a small chime, then the display window will display the freezer/fridge temps and will then be out of the 0F 0F DEMO mode). The 2 display buttons that you have to press simultaneously will depend on the model of Samsung refrigerator that you have.

I have a Samsung RF18HFENBSR model (french door, bottom freezer, display at top center of fridge compartment). For this model, you press the Power Freeze & Freezer buttons at the same time to enter/exit DEMO mode).

You might try googling Samsung XXXXXXXXXX Demo Mode, where XXXXXXXXX is your model number, and you may find the display button combo for your model. If not, then you can probably get the combination from Samsung support to return your unit to normal operating mode. Your appliance store may also have that information.

SOURCE: water pooling and freezing inside bottom freezer

I had the same problem with my LRFC25750 and have finally figured out what's happening! The water that is pooling and freezing on the bottom of the freezer is definitely coming from the defrost cycle. It is pooling inside the freezer compartment because the drain inside the back of the freezer intended to carry the defrost water down to the external evaporator tray underneath is blocked with ice. As a result, the defrost water from the coils overflows the collector under the coils and runs down the inside back of the freezer, pools on the bottom, and re-freezes when the cycle is over. this continues until there's so much ice on the bottom that the water from next defrost cycle runs out on the floor. The "easy" solution is to unplug the unit and let it completely melt out (this could take 24-36 hours). I couldn't wait, so I removed the freezer drawers and their tracks and pulled out the back panel inside the freezer -- saw the ice in the collector and blocking the drain and I melted it away with hot water and verified that water could now flow down to the external evaporator tray. Unless you want to do this, I'd say give it a good 24-36 hours for all the ice to melt away. I think it all started when we left the freezer door ajar for a whole day and probably had a lot of frost build-up on the coils. The next defrost cycle was not enough to clear all the frost and things began to build up from there. Once the drain is frozen, though, you're finished -- the defrost heater doesn;t reach down that far and you have to melt it down completely or it will continue to leak forever. I've heard that you can get a drain heater to ensure that the drain never freezes over or at least so that it is sure to clear with each defrost cycle. I'll post an update if I locate one.

SOURCE: freezer not cold enough to freeze items solid

Here are some things you can check yourself. Does it run all the time almost non-stop? if so check the vents under the front of the frig and make sure they are clean. Aslo check the condenser coil (either in back of the frig,or under the frig)Make sure that coil is clean. The condenser coil has to have contact with the outside air in order to release the heat it removed from inside the freezer.
Make sure you frig has plenty of ventilation ( wall too close on sides and back) Hope this helped. If not then you should have a pro look at it.

SOURCE: Ice Maker leaking water in freezer and won't stop making ice

The filter should be before the fridge and should not affect it it sounds like the water valve from the fridge is defective .Other possibility is the icemaker head is defective and needs changing.

I get an Error code Er if on my LG refrigerator, what can I do?

Hello Janet;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

Based on your problem I do not need your model number. This is a high maintenance unit. You have a bottom freezer with the ice maker and bucket on the fresh food section door.

The error code IF is the ice maker fan. You have two fans, one for the freezer and one for the ice maker.

First, ice makers and ice buckets belong in the freezer section. When they are on the door they are exposed to the warm room air temperature and condensate forms freezing the ice cubs together. Then you open and close the fresh food section door you force warm air down the air vents to your ice maker fan and your ice maker fan freezes up and burns out trying to start.

25681977-ebcjyrvherokzlkldixpqrtk-2-2.jpg

Part #: 5209JA1044A Cost: $75.00

You can purchase it over the internet for a lot less.

Base on what you described, I suspect your ice maker fan over loaded your control board and damaged it.

25681977-ebcjyrvherokzlkldixpqrtk-2-5.jpg

Part #: EBR41956418 Cost: $125.00 You can get this over the internet for about $80.00 or less.

Now, how do you want to do this?

1.) You can pay for a $400.00-$450.00 service call?

2.) Or do it dirty. Kill the power to the ice maker fan and purchase ice cube trays and put them in your freezer.

a.) Purchase a new control board.

b.) Take the bottom kick plate off the front of the unit. You will need to pull the bottom freezer door out to do this. There are two fillips head screws holding this on. Remove the screws and the kicker plate, also called the toe plate.

c.) In the front there are 2 leveling screws. One on each side. These are hard to raise, you do not have much to grab on. I use channel locks. Turn counter clockwise to raise and clear the floor.

d.) Pull your unit out so you can get behind it.

e.) Behind the unit unplug the unit.

f.) On the left side there is a metal cover plate over your main control board.

g.) GROUND YOURSELF BY TOUCHING SOMETHING THAT IS BARE METAL. STATIC ELECTRICITY WILL KNOCK OUT YOU NEW CONTROL BOARD.

h.) Remove the metal cover - unscrew.

I.) There are several white pins holding the board on. There is a small leg on each pin that must be pressed in to release the board.

j.) Systematically go around the control board disconnecting one connector at a time and connecting to the new board. Each connector has a tab to squeeze to release.

k.) Push the board back onto the white retaining pins.

l.) Now we are going to disconnect the freezer fan. On the control board each connector is marked with a number below it. Look for, "CON 7". You are going to cut the two wires to disconnect power to your ice maker fan.

j.) On the Con 7, on the left cut the yellow wire with the black stripe and the solid blue wire. CUT THESE WIRES ABOUT 2" AWAY FROM THE CONNECTOR IN THE EVENT YOU WISH TO REPLACE THE ICE MAKER FAN IN THE FUTURE.

I would have thought with all of the recalls under warrantee that LG has had on this model that they would have stopped manufacture.

RT50 control panel not responding

It still sounds like the child lock is on since that prevents accidental setting changes on the refrigerator's control panel. The following will NOT work if the child lock function is activated: Freezer Temp Button Fridge Temp Button Power Freeze Button Power Cool Button Ice Type Button Water Button Ice maker Water OR it may be in Cooling Off/Demo Mode. Cooling Off/Demo Mode is a feature used by retailers to display the refrigerator without running the compressor. If your unit is not cooling, and the bars are constantly scrolling up and down the temperature, check your manual for reset advice

I have a Samsung RF268ABRS Unit all food in bottom freezer thawed. Unit is running and ref is cool. I notice that the fan dosent seem to blow. Closed freezer up and its cold, but no air moving. How do...

I had a similar problem. my samsung freezer would only cool to 20 degrees, which also resulted in the freezer ice maker not functioning. (fridge door ice maker still worked) If you hold the power freeze and power cool buttons down together for 8 seconds it will a diagnostic. found the answers on http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=8206.0 , as too what the codes meant. Mine was throwing a freezer fan code error. ordered one online $30 and replaced it. seems to be working. TIP -The fan is located behing the rear panel in the freezer. I had two fans. The regular looking one is the freezer fan, the squirrel cage fan feeds the fridge ice maker. Also the new fan motors don't come with blades, just pull the blades off the old one and put it on the new motor. Don't push it on too far, make sure there is enough clearance so it spins freely.

Ice maker has ice motor doen't dump the ice

Your ice-maker may need to be "hard-reset". To do this, perform a manual-defrost by emptying out the freezer (and fridge) and shutting all power off to your unit for several hours (at least half a day unless you can be sure the temp in the freezer has fully reached ambient. Next, with freezer empty, restore power, make sure the "ice" setting is set to off, then set the forced power-freeze mode (you can refill the fridge, but leave the freezer empty for now. When the power-freeze completes (at least 2.5 hours) you can refill the freezer, set the "ice" mode to block/crushed (IE something other than off) and then hit the "black reset button" to restart the ice-maker. IF it still will not dump the cubes then the ice sensor/control board may have failed.

Ice maker running water into bin and ice is freezing over the top of the mold before dumping ... now it won't dump the ice

Most likely your water control valve for the ice maker side is not shutting completely. sometimes it's slow enough to freeze the fill tube shut and sometimes the valve is worn out and not seating. Let me see if I can find some parts I did not thaink Samsung Had a RB2 I was thinging. I'll check but you double check too. be back soon RS2155

SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)

Ice maker doesn't make enough ice to supply two senior citizens. This is the 2nd refrigerator we have had installed this month. What can we do to increase the amount of ice it puts out. The ice bin has...

Found in the FAQ section on Samsung.com:
Samsung refrigerator freezers produce about 120 cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications.
Empty the ice tray and let the unit run for 24 hours.
If fewer than 50 cubes are produced during the 24-hour test, then your refrigerator requires service. Please contact Samsung Service at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service appointment.
If your freezer is producing 50 to 90 cubes per day, try the following:
  • Set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting. Freezer temperature must be 5 degrees Fahrenheit or less for the ice maker to work properly.
  • Make sure that the water valve on the refrigerator water supply line is completely open. You can find the water valve where the refrigerator water supply line taps into your house water line.
  • If you have a water filter in your refrigerator, change the filter cartridge. For instructions, see your Users Manual.
If you want your freezer to produce more than 120 ice cubes in a day, try the following:
  • An ice maker typically makes 1 tray of ice every 90 minutes. To shorten the amount of time the freezer takes to produce a tray of ice, set the freezer temperature display to a lower setting.
  • If your refrigerator has a Power Freeze function, press the Power Freeze button to speed up the ice making process. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically.
NOTE: If you have just installed your refrigerator, it will take 6 to 12 hours for the refrigerator to produce ice.
You should throw away the first three batches of ice cubes that the ice maker produces (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice maker is making ice from clean water.
