Need help removing chuck on Hilti te72. Drill seems to function but will not accept chisel or bit.

the bearing in the chuck is probly missing. replace the ball baering.

They do produce a slight electrical burning smell when they get hot.

Ebay would be your best bet. Hilti has not produced that drill since around 1992. They no longer have parts for it. That is a double throw switch. Usually the side that is burned out will be discolored or loose at the contact. If it is the left side you can take the bottem left wire and hook it to the top left wire at the contact. Or do the same if it is the right one.

this is quite an old machine and the switch will no longer be abailable from hilti. However the TE805 has a very similar switch. instead of a trigger switch its a rocker switch, but it is possible to unscrew the top off your old switch and attach it to the new one. the part number is 17904

If you can t find the cap nut, drill 2 small holes on either side, tap the holes and put in 2 set screws to hold it in place
