Mdb6650aww code flash: Rinse Cycle & Wash Button. Unit inoperative and unresponsive.
Stopped mid-wash cycle by itself and started flashing the code. None of the buttons work; tried draining, etc. Turned off the power to the maching several times and extended periods with no change.
You might try running the diagnostic mode which can be model dependent. To find your particular method to do this .... unscrew and remove the lower kick plate under the door. The service technician paperwork is usually taped to the kick panel or the tub or side wall. Within that paperwork should be the work process to run through the diagnostic mode. The work process is one of pushing various control buttons in a sequence within a quick time frame and repeating 2-3 times.
If that fails ... other potential reasons run the gambit of a bad control panel (or loose wire connection to the panel), bad heating element, etc
Good luck on your troubleshooting!

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

Press the cancel button, Then cut power to the dishwasher for a period of time. restore power to it then try a cycle.

I suspect for either of these units that the timer control boards are bad.

Whirlpool adp 6600 will not function start light is just flashing. Waht di I do?
To begin the test program, press both the SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONO wash program buttons at the same time
as you turn the unit on by pressing the ON/OFF button. Initially, the control unit version number will appear in the display
(e.g./ 20 = version 20, 21 = version 21, etc.).
When the wash program buttons are released, the LED's above them will begin flashing. To end the test program or test cycle, press the ON/OFF button.
To check the wash program LED, press its corresponding button.
To check the Cycle Countdown display, Refill Rinse Agent LED and REGULAR WASH button LED, press the REGULAR WASH button (press the DELAY START button to test the
Cycle Countdown display alone).
The Cycle Countdown display should show "88" when the DELAY START button is pressed and "8h" when the REGULAR WASH button is pressed.
To start the test cycle, press both the SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONO buttons a second time.
When the test cycle has completed, the Cycle Countdown display will indicate a fault using the codes below. If a combination of faults exists, the code numbers will be added together, (e.g./ 6 = faults 2 + 4).
0 = No faults
1 = Aqua Sensor ("Sensotronic") fault
2 = Heating fault
4 = Filling fault
8 = NTC (temperature sensor) fault
email me at [email protected] and I can send you via a "pdf" of the diagnostic/repair manual for your specific Bosch...provided it is indeed a SHU5316 unit.
I`ll watch for your reply. Good luck.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
