The battery compartment is on the front of the instrument. The cover is round and has some symbols that resemble arrows pointing down. Slide the round cover down to access the battery.

Mitutoyo error code E940?

Mitutoyo is a brand that produces precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. An error code E940 on a Mitutoyo instrument typically indicates a problem with the instrument's communication interface. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as a problem with the instrument's cable or software, or a problem with the computer or device to which the instrument is connected.
To troubleshoot the issue, you should first check the connections between the instrument and the computer or device to ensure that they are properly connected and secure. If the connections appear to be fine, you may need to update the software on the instrument and computer or device to resolve the issue.

I have a mitutoyo 500-422 and how do I replace the battery

I also have a Mitutoyo 500-422 Caliper. But mine is strictly solar powered. There is no battery for it. So long as you have 60 lux of illumination on it, it will work fine. Its not suited for darker environments, as it will lose its measurement when the light falls below 60 lux.

How do I change the battery in a mitutoyo digital caliper

Find the little battery compartment on the back. Slide it open, tap lightly against your hand to drop the battery out. Insert a correctly-rated new replacement battery in the same orientation as the original battery. Slide the cover back on. They make it about as simple as possible.

How to turn off a mitutoyo digital caliper code no 500-115

The Mitutoyo 500-115 caliper does not have an off button. It automatically shuts off after two hours of non use. Very frustrating since after just a few times of using the calipers 6+ hours of time has been used on the battery and consequently it doesn't last long. I am in the middle of adding a switched battery holder to my calipers. I have already milled a channel for the wires and tomorrow I do some soldering and two sided 3M tape to mount it to the back. The switched holder is Adafruit 12mm Coin Cell Breakout w/On-Off Switch [ADA1867]. The battery you should use is 1.55V Number 390 (Energizer). We'll see how this turns out. Sick of putting batteries in it. Go figure total cost of all of this is around $15 which includes a new 390 cell from the hardware store. That's about 5 years worth of batteries. Maybe it's the principle of it. At lease now if/when I do replace the battery, no disassembly required.

Sounds like the new battery you installed is no good. Is the display also dim? When the battery is low that is one of the results on the Mitutoyo. Do you have another battery to try in it?

The answers above by Kerry Littleton have nothing to do with our calipers. The answer above by Bob Pulver is well-intentioned but doesn't address the real issue.

The real issue is the ORIGIN button is little-used and a bit reluctant to "make". The solution is to use a blunt plastic probe to REALLY PUSH down the button and hold it. The caliper will reset to zero.

How do you rezero a 505-637 mitutoyo dial caliper

Fully close the caliper. The pointer should be pointing about straight up or close to it. Losen the knurled screw which is located on the circumference near the bottom. Now grab the dial and turn until the zero lines up with the needle. Re-tighten the knurled screw.
