When I keep the battery for charging the red light keeps blinking. I bought the camera just 4 months ago. So the battery is new. It has not been used much. So, what is the solution? I have not done anything to solve the problem.

Simple solution  ! just wire a 9V battery postive to positive and negative to negative ( be careful not to interchange them ). hold it together for 30 seconds ! done !
All this does is give the battery diode inside, a boost ! so that its connectors are activated and Voila ! it works camera's now charging !

The reason that this is happening to because the connector cord has been placed into the charging station upside down. Unplug it and flip it over so that the 125V reading is towards the bottom and the "well shin" reading is faced upwards (facing the side of the charger where the battery and light appear.)
this should solve all your problems; I think the blinking red light is just an alert to let you know that the connection is wrong.

If you can’t get the manufacturer to fix it or send you the parts you may want to try and fix it yourself. I found a guy in South Carolina who sells good used parts and will give you some suggestions on how to do it yourself. I bought a LCD from him for $39.00, fixed it myself and it works great. I think his email is [email protected]

04/23/12 Just called CS at Casio, sent to repair then to parts. After being told I would have to buy new battery the parts person told me they could send me one as a courtesy! The cost would have been $46.00 so make those calls. They must know something is wrong.

If you call casio tech support, tell them your camera is less than a year old. They will not give you a battery if you tell them that your camera is more than a year old. FYI.

SOURCE: I am not able to charge the Exilim battery.

Same, I'm having this problem at the moment. and when you purchased this, they should give you a notice to NOT return it back to the retailer to any technical or repairing support. I haven't really called them yet, since they are closed already. But if anybody is wondering what the number is, here it is:

Technical Support call: 1-800-435-7732
9AM to 8PM EST (Mon-Fri)
9AM to 5PM EST (SAT-SUN)

Repair issues call: 1-800-706-2534
9AM-5PM EST (MON-friday)

hope that helps.

When I placed my Lithium Ion Battery in the charger it doesn't carge the batter and the red light that's supposed to stay lit while it's charging keeps on blinking on and off.

How old is the battery?

It's very possible that the blinking light is indicating a bad/old battery. These rechargeable batteries after so many cycles lose it's charging capability and the fault system built into the recharging base will indicate by giving you the red light on & off. Energizer rechargeable station is a good example when it detects old or bad batteries.

Same Problem

Hello, it was:
■ Charging LEDCharging LED
Red LED is on = Being charged
Red LED is blinking = Charging error
Green LED is on = Charging is complete

● If the charge indicator blinks as red, it indicates a battery charging error.
- The battery is not properly inserted
- The terminals of battery are dirty or damaged
If the battery is inserted properly and the charge indicator continues to blink, contact the
nearest Samsung Camera Service Center.

Or if the red LED remains on without turning green could mean a bad battery that no longer charges to 100% - get a new battery. Hope this helps

I am not able to charge the Exilim battery.

I HAVE A RED BLINKING LIGHT, AS WELL. FIRST, I CALLED STAPLES, BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I PURCHASED. AFTER A 10 MINUTE TUG OF WAR, WITH AN AUTOMATED OPERATOR, I WAS FINALLY CONNECTED TO A HUMAN. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BATTERY ISSUE AND IT WAS NOT COVERED ( BIG SURPRISE ). SO, I JUST CALLED CASIO @ 1-800-435-7732. A LIVE OPERATOR ( BONNIE ) CAME ON THE LINE WITHIN 2 MINUTES. SHE ASKED ME THE MODEL NO. ( EX-Z75 ) AND PURCHASE DATE ( CHRISTMAS '07 )...SHE SAID THAT IT HAS BECOME AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE LITHIUM BATTERY. A NEW REPLACEMENT BATTERY WILL BE SENT OUT, TOTAL FREE OF CHARGE WITHIN 5-7 DAYS! NO PROOF OF PURCHASE WAS REQUIRED. CASIO IS A PLEASANT SURPRISE IN TODAYS CORPORATE WORLD.
WHILE POSTING THIS, I THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE THE 9 VOLT BATTERY TRICK A TRY. AGAIN, I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED...IT WORKS! :)

Charging of the casio exilim battery

Blinking light means charging error. Call tech support and they will replace battery for you for free.

Battery will not hold a charge.

Casio says:

Red blinking light = defective battery

No flashing light = possible defective charger.

What you can do is send all your stuff into casio and they will test everything for you and see what they could replace for you.
