LG Viewty, Orange network
Dear Elle2585
Ok to answer your question "could it be a problem with my network"? Right well the answer depends on which end of the network you are reffering to If you are thinking that it is generally the orange/ hutchinson network, then it is unlikely as other users would have reported this problem, and people would communicate this type of issue very quickly.
Now what im thinking could be wrong here is any number of things that point to a fault with your handset. Now it is more than likely the fault will be software based rather than a hardware component (something physically inside the phone) that has gone down, but all the same, we wont rule anything out as yet.
Now firstly, it is possible that your phones' settings have been changed (either accidently or somewhat not accidently, but that is irrelevant) and in order to resolve this, you just simply wipe the phones settings and restore the phone back to factory standards/ settings that would originally have existed when you purchased the phone from brand new. Now the master reset/ factory default/ factory settings will be found under phone settings, and when you go to "wipe" or reset the phone it will ask you to enter the password. Now this is either the password you would have put on the phone if you even bothered to make one, or it will be one of the two following numbers, and they are 0000 or 1234. Once you have reset the phone, turn it off, remove the battery, then put the battery back in after an hour or so and restart the phone, your settings should be clear and the phone will be ok if this was the fixya for the fault.
Obviously first i will let you try this and see what happens, and if you still have the same problem, then i reckon to get hold of me again and i will certainly take the matter further in terms of assisting you with this fixya.
In the meantime do take care, and hope to hear from you soon
yours sincerely

WARNING
ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR PHONE NUMBERS AND OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF FROM YOUR PHONE, AS USING THE MASTER RESET FACILITY WILL WIP[E THE HANDSET OF ALL SAVED DATA, AND IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO WIPE THE PHONE USING A SEPERATE ORANGE SIMCARD FROM THE ONE YOU ARE USING, JUST IN CASE THERE IS A FAULT WITH THE PHONE AND IT WIPES YOUR NEEDED SIMCARD.
