If this is the 3-in-1 air conditioner, then you have two options:
1- do you see two drain outlets on the back? one is at the very bottom and has a removable plug and the second should be about half way down also with a removable plug. This air conditioner has a small non-removable tank that will fill up and a red light on the panel will light up and the machine will switch to FAN mode when full. Then you have to roll the machine to a drain and unplug the bottom plug to let it drain out. Not resonable.Probably good for a basement with a drain in the floor, but not on the main floor or 2nd storey floor.
2nd method is to unplug the top drain (Keep the bottom drain plugged) , attach the plastic hose that the machine came with to this drain, find a bucket that is at the same height or below the top drain and let the water drain into the bucket. Then when it gets about 3/4 of the way full, empty the bucket. This way the airconditioner mode and the humidifier mode will work continously.
This is the way this type of air conditioner is made.
Sounds like a clogged condenser pipe which is common for portable Ac . It is usually due to the unit sitting low and collect more pollens an particles at floor level. A pipe cleaner tends to do the trick. Also insects tend to harvest inside the drain pipe
No the bottom hole should not be plugged. the bottom hole is the drain for the condensation. If you plug that hole the water will fill up and damage the unit.
There is two drain plugs on the back of the unit, you will need to drain the the bottom black plug, you need something to catch the water. hope this helps
If you have a goldstar GP120CE portable air conditioner with the E3 error and it's not under warranty you may be out of luck. When I called LG, (who owns Goldstar), they said these units are not cost effective to repair so finding a company to service them is difficult. If it were under warranty they would exchange it..
