My samsung r509 notebook used to connect the internet thru my ASUS router. A few weeks ago it suddenly stopped connecting even though it recognizes my router.

Funnily, it connects w/o problem thru a TP-link router. I tried re-installing the computer's wifi driver, resetting the router & upgrading the ASUS router's firmware. Nothing works. Pls help.

SOURCE: TP-Link TL-WR642G recovery after failure upgrade to latest firmware

may find this page helpful. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php...om_a_Bad_Fl ash Its not for the TP-Link router but the same principle could be applied to you with the correct firmware. Its worked for me on more than a few occasions. Providing you can ping the router via a lan cable then the chances of recovering it are very high.

Are you using a router? Do you use cable internet? Try connecting directly the cable directly into your netbook. If you have internet access then the issue may be with your router.

Hello
Wow youve done almost everything here. How about the firewall? is it blocking any connections?

Next,Go to control panel, network and sharing center.Look and see if the pc or laptop in question is on the same network, meaning home or public.

Set all your machines to the same network.Either home or public.I do know this has been a win 7 problem.

Have you entered your wireless network password?

Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless router unable to connect to Internet

Try again by Disabling the WEP (or WPA), MAC Address Filtering and Firewall Setting Individually. Should be a problem with one of those. Then when you receive the Signals, try to Adjust using Bottom Up method. That means one setting at a time, Hardening the Security. Have you checked your DNS settings? Have you checked the Channels you are using? Re check them and try again.
