First disconnect from power. It appears that a staple has jammed in the slide which holds all the staples. Open up the filling section and look closely at the area where the hammer slide pushes out the staples, that is where most jams occur.

SOURCE: stanley bostitch double fires. It is an older

You did not list your model number, however most bostitch nailers use the tva6 trigger valve. As this valve wears it will be erratic. Examine the firing pin that makes contact with trigger. If it looks worn or wabbles from side to side, then time to replace. To remove valve first remove trigger by removing roll with 3MM punch. Next remove one or two roll pins just above the valve, also 3mm. With roll pins removed air pressure will pop out valve. Be carefull because valve can come out with force, use glove or rag to catch. Parts available at www.toolpartsdirect.com, or generic valve at www.ebay.com. Good luck

Been using stapler for past hour suddenley trigger

Could be a bad power cord: broken wire at the switch; a bad switch; the stapler needs lubrication; or the stapler is shot.

How do you load staples into the gun?

The staplesare NOT loaded on top of the pull out shaft; they are inserted directlyinto the slot that opens when you pull the shaft out. If the nose ofthe tool is not placed firmly against a surface, it will not fire.

and click the PDF icon on the right of the model # to start the download.

Here is a step by step:
Unplug the tool.
Squeeze the end of the shaft at the rear bottom of the tool and pullout the shaft.
Flip the tool over on it’s back.
Insert the staples,(points up) and then slide the shaft back in.
Plug it in, press the on button (under the the power cord in the back). Press the nose squarely against the material and press the trigger

Have a stanley tre550 and need to know how to use

The staples are NOT loaded on top of the pull out shaft; they are inserted directly into the slot that opens when you pull the shaft out. If the nose of the tool is not placed firmly against a surface, it will not fire. Go to Stanley’s website’s knowledge base and type in the model number, and you can get a PDF of directions. http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?TYPE=STATICLEFT&PAGE=Support.htm&LEFT=left_support.htm Below is the graphic from their pdf. Here is a step by step: Unplug the tool. Squeeze the end of the shaft at the rear bottom of the tool and pull out the shaft. Flip the tool over on it’s back. Insert the staples, (points up) and then slide the shaft back in. Plug it in, press the on button (under the the power cord in the back). Press the nose squarely against the material and press the trigger.c901269.jpg
