Kenmore elite 417.8110,910 indicates LOC on display. Unable to pushing snd holding add steam button does not remove LOC indicator. Any other options?

E1, F1 are Error Codes indicating a Control Board Failure, and normally time to buy a new stove.

The Kenmore 417.81102003 dryer control lock feature should be toggled on and off if you press and hold the Add Steam button for 5+ seconds. The Add Steam is the second button from the left in the top row of buttons. When the lock is enabled, the LCD screen should show LOC when you attempt to wake the dryer. There is nothing in the manual about a double-beep when the control lock is enabled. Dryers from this manufacturer, Frigidaire, can beep multiple times if you press the buttons too hard.

I believe that the front panel lock has been enabled. (This keeps children from starting the unit accidentally.) Without the model number of your dryer, I can't be absolutely sure of the key or keys that you need to press and/or hold to toggle the lock off. On some Elite Steam Dryers, including the Kenmore 417.81100000, you need to press and hold the "Add Steam" button for 5 seconds. You'll hear a chime as the feature is disabled. On the Frigidaire Affinity dryers, the Select and Options button need to be pressed together to toggle the lock on and off.

Look on the control panel for a fine print "Child Lock" label or a padlock symbol below a specific key or with a line between two keys. That will indicate the buttons that you need to try. Otherwise check the manual.

If you have attempted to clear the lock and there was no response, the key pad may not be communicating with the brain of the appliance. This is usually a keypad fault and is cured by replacing it. However, it can indicate a wiring problem or a problem with the control unit.

If you don't have any indication of the child lock buttons or they didn't work, please add a comment with the model number. If the dryer is not currently running, you can look in the unit and try to find the model number. (It should be on the inside of the door surround for most dryers.) A few companies put the model number in other spots. If you know the manufacturer that will help me assist you further.

I know this may seem silly but - On the top right back corner of your washer hit it with medium force with your fist, this helps.
