What is the maximum size of a SD memory card that the Philips digital photo display model 9ff2 can support?

The maximum size of an SD card is 2GB, and the 9FF2 will support SD cards of that size. The 9FF2 will not support SDHC cards, which start at 4GB and go up.

Powershot a 400. brand new chip. can not take picture?

You don't state which memory card you have installed.

But if you have installed one which is SDHC rather than SD you'll get that problem as your camera is only compatible with SD cards up to an absolute maximum of 2G. Even then, it can be unreliable with 2GB cards and so in practice 1GB is the recommended maximum. As the camera is only a 3MP model, 1GB is more than enough even at the maximum image quality settings.

Note that this is a hardware restriction. There is no way to update your camera to accept 4GB SD cards (maximum SD capacity, very few were ever made), and also no way to adapt it to accept SDHC cards (which start from 4GB and go upwards).

I want to know maximum card (SD and SDHC) that can be used with Canon Power A550 Camera.

The maximum size of SD cards you can use is 2GB since SD cards max out there. SDHC cards max out at 32GB. The camera itself does not impose any limits on those two types. In short, you can use any SD/SDHC card.

What is the maximum gb card for a samsung 420

Your camera is definitely compatible with SD cards up to a maximum capacity of 512MB. It was never hardware tested by the manufacturer with larger capacities and definitely cannot accept any SDHC cards (4GB and upwards); I have also tried one in the past with a 2GB SD card and it was unusable. Unfortunately Samsung have never actually published any hard and fast data stating what the maximum capacity is for the Digimax 420.

In summary then, you're good to go with 512MB SD, 1GB SD is a gamble and will either work or it won't (but won't harm your camera or the card), 2GB and above are not suitable.

I have the JVC above and it requires an SD card. I inserted an SDHC card and it gave me an error. SD and SDHC are not the same? When I did try to but SD card only still on its label has SDHC. To be honest...

You are correct. SD and SDHC are not the same.

Your camera will accept a maximum SD card capacity of 2GB. It simply isn't capable of handling anything of a larger capacity and in particular is incompatible with the more technically advanced SDHC cards.

Your fix is to either replace your camera with a later model or to stick to using SD cards with a maximum 2GB capacity.

SDHC stands for Secure Digital High Capacity. It was a technical evolution which broke the 4GB maximum capacity of SD cards and allows up to 32GB. In turn they are eventually due to be superseded by SDXC cards (ecure Digital eXtended Capacity) which allow a maximum of 2TB.

What is the maximum size to use for an sd card for lumix dmc tz3

The maximum size SD card you can use is 2GB because that is the maximum size SD card you can buy. Cards bigger than that are SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards. Fortunately the TZ3 is capable of using SDHC cards of 4GB and larger.

Maximum SD card size for TomTom ONE XL

The XLS which is not that much different and supports 4Gb as used in mine which allows me to keep maps of the US,Canada, UK, and the whole of europe on it and swap at will. I bought a cheap generic one. I do kow that those cards that use micro sd can and do have problems so best to avoid the micro type unless your device takes those specifically

Largest capacity SD card for Pentax Optio S5N

The maximum supported size is most likely 2GB SD Card. Cards with 4GB and more are following a new (incompatible) standard called SDHC (SD High Capacity), SDHC cards work only in devices specifically supporting SDHC. The Optio S5N uses the old SD standard where 2GB are the maximum size.
